This morning, I remembered a fanzine article a friend of mine wrote in which he came up with an all-cocaine baseball team. Is the same possible with footy? Would it be possible to come up with a full squad of guys who have been busted for using or have been rumored to use the jazz salt?
Goal: Mark Bosnich
Defense: Rio Ferdinand
Midfield: Diego Maradona
Forwards: Adrian Mutu, Robbie Fowler
Others?

Does that provide any inspiration? I have try and look for some guys who played for small Italian clubs. There have been players who have played for Lecce or some other small Italian sides and they have used those drugs. Recently, there was a guy who used to play for Brescia in the 1980s and he got busted with cocaine.

I'd wondered about him too. My impression is that he was just a drunk.
Davids was busted for doping, not cocaine.

Yeah Edmundo was as well and I think Ortega was caught doing 200mph in his ferrari in Turkey.
Back to the subject at hand was not a Portuguese defender caught with coke about 2 years ago...I forget the guys name right now.

Jonathan Bachini, a former Italian international and Juventus player, was suspended for cocaine use last year. He was pretty good in his day too...

gazza was a coke addict ,so yes.
he admitted he went on a six week coke binge and nearly lost his mind.
I think you can also add Frank mcavennie to the list.
