Englands confidence boosted (http://cricket365.com/news/story_16339.shtml)
well, boy have thoughts and opinions changed from the beginning of the tour and now. will game three of this series even be the decider? Hussey has been doing great for the aussies, by far i think he has been the standout player for the team.
game 2 saturday, final game 3 on tuesday (hopefully i will be able to watch it).

We're just building up the Pom's confidence to make beating them in the Ashes even sweeter then it would normally be. :D

That's what I'm worried about.
Yesterday was a total demolition job, but in fairness to trhe Aussies the two sides were playing in completely different conditions.

still, any side that get taken apart by collingwood, under any conditions, has to be asking questions of itself.
p.s. ponting fails again. bag of rubbish.
watch him get a double hundred in the first test now i've said that.
encouragingly, gillespie is still being awful and showing no signs of improvement.

there's talks of ponting giving him a 'rest' for the next two Natwest Challenge games.

the 'rest' mentioned was to be for dizzy, not ricky. Gillespie did play, and bowled 7 overs, giving up 42 runs.
-fantastic by the captain to smash 111.
-Lee was great bowling taking 5-41

yeah, ponting didn't even wait until the first test to make me eat my words.
bastard.
although gillespie is still cack.
unless he picks up some wickets soon his test place has to be under threat.

the technical opinion appears to be that his remodelled action isn't working for him. his wrist is rolling over as he delivers the ball or some crap like that.
looks like more of a confidence issue to me.

Solanki was a good sub and Pietersen has given England hope, but I think the Aussies are going to have an easy win once they start batting

Only 228 at the Oval which is usually a good true batting strip! I haven't seen any of the match as I'm at work, but it looks like it wasn't easy for the English batsmen to get going today. Hopefully the English bowlers can do a good job and make a game of it now.
