Have you ever read any of Bill Bryson's books? He is a great travel author (Neither Here nor There, A Small Island) and his book on Australia, In a Sunburnt Country, has a great spiel on cricket. It is hilarious!
I highly recommend all of his books. He is a great author and though American lived in England for 20 years.
I'm going to have to look into that
have you read any of Tony Horowitz's books? He has one called Blue Latitudes where he follows the footsteps of Capatin Cook and writes about what goes on. However, my favorite is "Confederates in the Attic" where he travels the South and goes to Civil War sites and meets some very interesting people!!

Running joke around here that one of our coworkers-cute Asian girl-was talking about a new product she had seen and she said "ooo so biiiig" in her cute accent and we have run with that saying. Cracks us up everytime!

Have a nice weekend, cam...thanks for the book suggestions. I am delving into the Chronicles of Narnia again but will take a look at this (and dan's suggestion) as soon as I finish.

It's rainin' like a mofo right now...I wanna go out but, seriously, who wants to walk around the city lookin' for bars when it is raining? I will probably get to reading, posting, guitar playing, room cleaning....boring weekend.

find a bar next door and sit in there all day
and in my Battrick game my #4 bowler has bowled 7 overs for 29 runs and taken 4 wickets!!!
I might have to move him up in the order. He's also bowled a maiden over (which means he gave up now runs, i think)
edit: and GP, I can mail you my copy of Confederates in the Attic when you want to read it, as long as I get it back!!

we had tornados touch down about 6 miles away 2 nights ago so I feel you about the rain-staying in is a good idea! :D

I do not prefer natural disasters...however I do think it would be AWESOME to go Storm chasin' in the midwest....tornado huntin'.
with professionals obviously.

Yup it was nasty for a while-at the tornado site (saw this on the news) a man got a call from his next door neighbor asking him to get his dog off their roof and his dogs were inside his house! They are still looking for this dogs owners! Landed on the roof of a 2 story house! Tornados are crazy!
