So yeah, as I was saying... Ozzie was all class. That whole era though - Cal, Ozzie, you'll never recapture that sorta innocent feeling baseball had back then. That the players were actually good guys.
Kind of sad, really.

I've seen Ozzie in several interviews, both during and after his career. Obviously in St. Louis he has achieved iconic status - like Stan Musial (whom I've met and is a complete dickhead). Ozzie is genuinely a good person and he cares about a lot of things, and he's one of the best shortstops to ever play the game. He'll always be my favorite baseball player (no matter how hot Scottie Rolen is).

That's ok Bready-you prolly would not have remember the stuff that happened in '97 and '98 anyways! ;) And better late then never is my philosophy! I am glad you found the Gunners! :D
you're right, probably wouldn't have....;)
All I can say is I grew up a Yankees/Redskins fan die hard....my passion for the Gunners is way more than the previous 2 combined...

Ozzie was my hero in the 80s when my Cardinals were awesome (three World Series appearances).

I feel so bad.. i have been on the fone with tech support for bout 30 min..
she says she sent a signal to my box.. i was being impatient and said it wasnt working and i needed to speak to her manager..
it ended up working....
i told her i should be nominated for ************** of the month.

She definitely needs some streamers, those little beads for the spokes, and Steph's bullhorn that plays Dixie to move those Dutch people out of the way!
Oh yea the bullhorn is a must-wonder if the Dutch have heard Dixie? Maybe in Gone with the Wind? :D

I'm going to get Drunko on my front porch tonight! That's about it for plans. I'm sure some of the other drunk neighbors will wander by.
Is Sean taking Josh out tonight? Hopefully he can get away from the craziness that is Bunko! I have heard the edited stories of Bunko from Leigh!! :D

We had some friends stay with us a few weeks ago that have a nutty 2 1/2 year old!! Worst part was he didn't speak english, so yelling did no good!

I've got my Battrick game right now, its like Hattrick but with cricket. I hit 346-6 from 50 overs and the opponents are at 72-1 after 16 overs. They aren't going to score enough runs if they continue at this rate!! The best part about it is I have just kept all the players the computer picked, put all the playing styles on normal, and have kepty the order and bowling order the computer picked and I"m kicking ass. I figured this game would be tough as I'm away to the 3rd place team. I'm in 2nd, but we are even on points, but I have a better run rate.
i'm sure none of you understood the above!!

I watched a few matches on TV last year when I was over there. Its a good way to work througha hangover because you watch a little, fall asleep, and then wake up 45 minutes later and nothing really big as happened. Kinda like baseball!!
And I figured with the Ashes coming up I should learn some stuff on it and Battrick is a good way to learn.
I've read some crap online about cricket and a good quote I've found is:
"baseball is a pitchers game and cricket is a batters game"

Have you ever read any of Bill Bryson's books? He is a great travel author (Neither Here nor There, A Small Island) and his book on Australia, In a Sunburnt Country, has a great spiel on cricket. It is hilarious!
I highly recommend all of his books. He is a great author and though American lived in England for 20 years.
