I really like Lucio because I play defense, and he is one of the best period, BUT Ballack is the great German attacking midfielder, BUT I have this obsession with the Dutch and how many great players they have on their national team (even though they didn't qualify for the last WC), so I am going with MAKAAY.

Don't mind the poll. But it says it will be open till next year (June 21st, 2006). Un-uh!!. I will see if I can edit that for you, but lets keep the poll open for 48 hours only.
DF
EDIT
This poll will only be open till sometime Friday before we close it.
There is no way to edit the time frame once the poll has been posted.
So.... sorry..we are not going to have it open for a year!
So get all your ballot stuffing in. :p

Ballack, worldclass attacking mid. I like karimi too cuz he's my countryman but he hasn't actually played in the league for bayern yet...

It's hard to pick one player but I would say Ballack, he is such a presence on the field. Great all around midfielder.
Pre-Ballack era it was definately Effenberg, lack of technical skills were made up by his character, such a bastard... i love it!

Of all the great players to love on this team, I am still a huge Mehmet Scholl fan. I cannot believe he was NOT listed! He may be passed his prime, but things ALWAYS happen when he takes the pitch.

Add 1 more to Makaay's tally, stupid me I picked Pizarro in haste.
It was a close call between Makaay and Ballack, but taking the last 2 years as a whole Makaay has been slightly better than Ballack which is to say both have been World-Class.

17 Votes for Karimi? WTF, this guy hasn't played a game, this totally illegitimize this Poll.
I wish all u Karimi guys would stop intruding our boards with your Overzealous Karimi worship. Okay we get it, for u guys Karimi is better than sliced bread, but We the BAYERN fans on the Bayern Board really couldn't care less, so go post on the Iranian forum or something. This is the BAYERN MUNICH forum and not the Karimi forum!

Take it easy on the Karimi fans. This is sort of like Real getting Beckham and how many fans became Real fans just because they followed the great Beckham. Its just instead of a player from England, it is a player from Iran. Don't forget he was the Asian Footballer of the Year. I am not saying it is the exact same situation as Real, just similar.
Also it is ironic that I mention Beckham because Bayern took a serious look at him earlier this year. He was basically Real's trade bait for Ballack.
Even though mentioning all this, chelodelgado I understand exactly where you are coming from. He hasn't exactly proven himself so how can we all just respect him for Bayern if he hasn't done anything. I remember when Ballack first came here he underachieved a little. We just have to give it time before we see if Karimi is the real deal.
