Sochaux have parted ways with their wantaway Coach Guy Lacombe just a week into preseason training. (http://www.channel4.com/sport/french_football/jul6g.html)

Surprised?

They are a prime candidate for relegation I think.

I find it odd that a team who is one of the smaller in Ligue 1 would ax their coach after a season that they finished mid-table. I would assume this would be a ok season for Sochaux. They beat who they should have, and lost to who they should have. I do not understand this one.

They made UEFA Cup last season, of course they sold their best player, Pedretti, and then mid-table.

I think he pissed off the board, as this shouldn't have happened a week into training.

If I had to guess, it isn't because of footballing reasons that Lacomb got the axe.

Sochaux got their new coach from Clermont Foot who now has Marc Collat. Anyone know much about him?
