I still think that PSG are light years from competing for the Ligue 1 title.

I don't. I think that they could be competitive as is; add a target man to take the pressure of Pauleta, as the article alludes, along with maybe a nother solid back for a rotation/depth, and PSG could be right there.

They've got to get off to a good start, imv; they've started horribly slowly in the last 2-3 seasons...

Ok, maybe my post was a tad negative, but can you blame me. When on Earth has PSG been a real force in France or Europe for that matter? I know we have discussed this into the ground about PSG should be a footie giant with being in Paris a world city, but I just can't get past that HUGE boulder.

In the 90's ??? I think they made the Champions League semi finals a couple of times.

Canal+ give us the money to buy all the best talent in France (Djorkaeff, Weah etc etc...)

Then, they all went to the 'better' leagues in England and France...

So then Bergeroo and Fernandez polluted the team with crap domestic and South American signings...

Did the PSG faithful rip him to shreads in the newspapers? Because it seems like PSG is just an average European club in 1 of THE most famous cities on Earth.

PSG is an average european club and maybe less for last years.
C.Bietry changed everything when he came to PSG,he fired the former staff (managers and great talent scouts like Jean-Michel Moutier) and didn't keep players like Le Guen,Guérin or Fournier that were too closed friends with his predecessor and enemy M.Denisot.
But now Moutier,Fournier and Guérin are back in business!Just like the good old time...

And here's hoping we can take off where they left it...
