During the 1999 FA Cup final, while a member of Sunderland, Lee Clark was caught on camera sitting among the Newcastle fans, wearing a T-shirt with the text "Sad Mackem Bastards". Needless to say, Sunderland sold him a few weeks later.

EX-SAFC PLAYER ARRESTED
From the Sunderland Echo - 11th July 2005
TWO former Sunderland stars were involved in a drunken brawl after a gala dinner to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the supporters' association.Fans' favourite Richard Ord was arrested and spent the night in the cells and former striker Phil Gray needed hospital treatment after the fracas. Ord, 35, was arrested and cautioned for being drunk and disorderly after he and Gray were caught up in a fight outside their seafront hotel.
:D :D
Here is the rest of the story. (http://www.true-faith.co.uk/html/Features/sunderlandarrest.htm)

Yep, there was a thread down below. I was there, Sunderland was lucky they weren't beaten by a greater margin. The only excuse for Sunderlands performance was them being in pre-season while Vancouver was in midseason form but you'd still expect a better performance from an EPL side. Saw a few english reports using the fact that Sunderland played the BC all-stars just 48 hours before this match so were tired, but Vancouver also had a match 48 hours before in Portland. Which I might add was a tougher game than Sunderland had 48 hours previously. :D :D
