West Ham are set to launch a £6m swoop for lanky Southampton striker Peter Crouch, while Manchester City and Liverpool are also keen. (Daily Express)

Why oh why is this man linked with so many clubs during the closed season? And as for GBP6million that's crazy money. Does City think he'll be the next Niall Quinn?

You can't argue with 12 goals and 6 assists in his last 18 premiership starts. £6m may be a bit much to risk but if he continues playing like he did in those games it'll turn out be a bargain.

Agreed, without Crouch Southampton wouldn't have even been fighting for survival on the last day of the season, they would've been relegated weeks before. Besides, he really does add another dimension to any team he plays for.
