I'm sure at some point or another this video has been posted, but I didn't see it so it obviously wasn't in an "important spot". LOL

LOL, I am a Conservative through and through. The problem is that having travelled all over Southern Africa and spent many months there over the past 6 years it's struck a chord with me and trust me when you have seen the desperation first hand, it changes your outlook forever.
Oh, i see, you're a Compassionate Conservative. ;) :D

Not to get back into this too much, but I'm all for these causes if they're proven to be both effective and actually putting the money to good use. The problem is that most of these charity organizations and functions put most of the proceeds towards "administrative costs" (see the Red Cross and the 9/11 funds). Even these ones that are just campaigning for change often do so almost blindly. Their heart might be in the right place, but they often don't handle things in the best way, which is worse than doing nothing, because the only worse thing than no hope is false hope.

I like to think we serve the greater good, Anti. I mean when you get down to the important things in life...it's all about connecting the food source (in this case probably Mc Donalds) with families in need. If each American heifer donated merely the super size portion of her extra value meal, then the world hunger problem could be solved in 1 month.
If only things were that simple then I'm sure the world would be a better place in a short time. The reality of it all is that fighting poverty is a very complex thing and there's no quick fix. Debt, trade, education, AIDS, corruption, civil wars, and geopolitics are issues that are relevant to fighting poverty, and that's just the beginning.
It's almost FUBAR, but we still have to give it our best shot.
Hopefully we start trying in earnest soon.

I'm so cynical about these things that i won't even bother to post how cynical i really am. I would, but my total apathy makes me not even care that i don't. :D

BBC Rates the Live 8 Performers (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/4645039.stm) Alright I know its kind of ridiculous trying to rate the performers, and the writer was pretty generous. But he gave Robbie Williams a 10/10! C'mon, i caught his performance and he was crap. Why do the Brits love this guy? I don't get it at all (neither does the rest of America). He's fcking useless, he has no talent, can't sing, his songs are crap. Its mildly amusing how weird he is and how hard he tries to impress, but when he sang "Can i Entertain you?" or whatever his crap song was, all i was thinking was, "No, you can't, Thanks". In fairness to Robbie though, i met him once in LA and he was very polite.

Hey, i give credit where credit is due. He needed to talk to a girl that i was chatting with and he asked my permission to speak to her. I thought this was very polite, and i respect that. But his music is fcking awful.

I saw this quote and thought of you. ;)
She said "Harder!" I did that. She said "Faster!" I did that. She said "Deeper!" I philosophized.

Nah, he wasn't trying to move in on my action. He was in showbiz ass kiss mode and was thanking the girl for getting him on TV. He moved along pretty quickly, i don't think she was his type anyway, if you know what i mean. (not that there's anything wrong with that) :D
