This just in - "judge orders New York Times reporter Judith Miller jailed for refusing to divulge source who revealed CIA operative"
What a disgrace
I respect the fact that she's taking a stand on principle. But why go to jail to protect Karl Rove, who's identity is known to everyone now? She should just testify before the grand jury, i know that i'd sing like a bird.

I've never been good a keeping secrets, whenever someone tries to tell me a secret, i tell them to keep it to themselves because i cannot guarantee that i'll keep it. If you want to keep something secret than don't tell anyone. On the other hand i'm not a big believer in keeping secrets. Too often people create a web of secrets and lies and live a miserable life trying to maintain it, its really not a good way to live. I saw a kids movie a few months ago called "Little Secrets", it was a cute film but had a strong point about the corrosive effects of secrecy on people's lives.

But don't forget that when you leave DC you are a tourist. ;)

I don't wear a t-shirt proclaiming the city I am visiting.
I don't ride on public transport during rush hour if I do not know where I am going.
I never wear a fanny pack.
I never stop in the middle of a busy sidewalk to either gawk at a building or consult a poorly folded map.
I do not loudly bitch about said city I am visiting, nor do I ever find myself uttering the phrase "I CANNOT BELIEVE PEOPLE LIVE HERE!".
So no, I'm not a tourist.
Trust me, living in the city you tend to travel a bit differently then other folks. ;)

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to CFCinDC again.
Cam, I am sure CFC is like me. When I leave town, I am a traveler, not a tourist. ;)
I also know that CFC also does NOT:
- Consistently stand on the left and right sides of an escalator and block the damn thing for others to not be able to pass
- Gawk at any building, including fast food restaurants, and say "see son, that's where laws are made"
- Buy matching "FBI", "CIA", or "Future American President" matching t-shirts, caps, shorts, socks etc... for her friends and loved ones
- need to hear directions 10 different times to finally understand where she needs to go... remember, in a city built on a grid that is understandable and logic to anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of the alphabet and numbers
*Rant is Over... I feel so much better*

I agree with you all that there are lots of people who don't get it and I have been annoyed with many of them myself, having lived in tourist towns (Miami Beach and Galveston).
But we've all been tourists before. Ever made a wrong turn in an unfamiliar town and been yelled at as a stupid tourist, etc. ? ;)
Oh no, you big city (lol) Washington folks would never bitch and moan. :D
No, I think you missed the ********ing point. I wouldn't insult someone's hometown that I was visiting. Period, end of. You look like a ********ing ignorant jackass when you do.
Then again, I have manners and most folks don't.
