I have never ever liked Pink Floyd but I will have to say that i was impressed but what I saw this weekend. Those old geezers can play. I'd be even more impressed with them if they can maintain some sort of integrity and refuse the megabucks tour that will now be offered to them.

For some reason it seems a lot of these old geezers are getting back together and putting on some pretty good shows... wonder whether that's a sad commentary on today's acts, or the fact that you never lose the entertainer label... anyways beyond Live 8, I saw Gang of Four a few months back in DC and they were great.

What exactly pissed them off anyway? Nevermind...probably just the standard rock star ego ****************.

Pretty much. The short version is Roger Waters wanted to do more albums that were like The Wall (which was his creation) and the rest of the band didn't. So Rogers was pissed and left.

A lot of today's music doesn't compare IMO, and the old bands really know how to "rock". I have been an on and off Who fan, and was really impressed to see Roger Daltry still had his voice! They are still good but have lost some of the raw power they had with Keith Moon.

I heard crickets chirping soon after the post!!!

How was the holiday weekend? Did you get to meet up w/ GP?

Our weekend was pretty good but the kiddo got a stomach bug on Sunday. As a result we missed most of the 4th neighborhood party but did get to decorate her stroller and walk in the parade! :D

GP found something else to do so we never got to meet! I think he is avoiding me! ;)

Ran the Peachtree and had a blast doing that! Then we went to a bbq in the late afternoon and my parents friends had like competition quality fireworks show that lasted almost 2 hours! It was cool! My son decided this week that he does not like loud noises though so he was inside the whole time! :( I am so tired today though-it was tough to come back to work!

You did not hear? Yoss and I won! It was an amazing 1st ever Arsenal 1-2 Peachtree Road Race finish! ;) :p

I understand Bready-Yoss and I tried to meet after the race and the Brewhouse was not open and we even decided that we were too hot and tired after the race to wait for them to open! So no harm no foul there!

Sounds like a good time!!! It was tough to come in to work today!!

Your story reminds me of another fireworks story. It was New Years eve and we were at a friends house in Melbourne FL. They are an English couple and had loads of people over for the party. My buddy went out and spent around $2000 on the "big" fireworks and was really excited. He set up this launch system (he's an engineer too) and started the show. First few went off and we all ooh'd and awww'd. Then about 2 blocks away, some really rich people started their professional fireworks show! It was the big ones, like you see cities put up on the 4th, and they were going off right behind his from our viewpoint. The ooohs and ahhhs got louder and my buddy was feeling really good until he looked up and saw the other show. He finally lit the rest off all at once, grabbed a beer and came over with us to watch the rest of the neighbor's show!

Thanks GP. After reading the first few words, I now have this song stuck in my head:

Woke up this morning with a wineglass in my hand,
What wine, whose wine, where the hell did I dine!!

Nothing like a little Frampton stuck in your brain on a Tuesday afternoon. :(

No I have "let it roll baby roll, let it roll baby roll, let it roll baby roll, let it roll.......all night long........"

Now all we need is a rousing rendition of Crazy Train and Frosty the Snowman and we are set in the songs that are stuck in your head category! :D
