In an interview w/ Pitchfork Media, the Doves comment being a British Band in America:
The only British band that's really paved the way is Coldplay.
Pitchfork: Well, there's Oasis.
Jez: I've heard that they'll sell tickets, but they can't sell records. They sold out Madison Square Garden in three hours. And they can't sell albums. People want to see... [hesitates] I don't know what's going on. But anyway--

It was more like a mirage b/c there aint' much water in west Texas!!!
Sad, because Blur tried so hard to be that band to pave the way in the US(hence the abomination known as Song 2), and I could never understand why. Who gives a ******** if you're big over here?
As long as you're making decent music, that is all that counts.

Yep. The Beatles, Stones, The Who, Zeppelin, etc. did fcuk all to pave the way for the Doves et. al. :rolleyes:

That is, if I was trying to become a starving artist. I've found you can do both - work and be an artsy person. Besides, brushes are ********ing expensive, lol.

Actually, no, that possibly might be worse...
I'm just a bigger fan of working "nude", "nudity", or "naked" into more classic fare, such as "Ask not for whom the nudity tolls. It tolls for thee", or, "The Good, The Bad, & The Naked" and, of course, any cheesy 50's sci-fi typre title.
But enough about that. It's the people's thread, and the peoples should get what they want.. ;)
