Hey Guys, I have an off-topic question......

Probably a dumb question but the FIFA World Cup ticket site is too cryptic for me to understand exactly what's going on.
My understanding is that only TST's (team specific sales) were for sale during this second phase of ticket sales...which ends tonight. I don't care about following any specific team but wanted to just try to order tickets for matches based on specific cities and dates.

My question is....when does the 3rd phase start and can you attempt to order single game/date tickets during that phase? If any of you guys have some info, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

Yoss, I looked into it right when Phase 2 tix were going on sale and all the TST tickets for teams that actually had a chance of making the finals were sold out. There are no individual match tix for sale right now. Wish I knew what the deal is for the next phase. I am trying to see if I can work in a trip with some friends who are going over with the new kid to introduce her to the German side of the family. Of course us fellas wouldn't mind hitting a few matches if possible!

Unfortunately, I found out that the next phase when you can enter the lottery for single matches starts December 1st......which makes things ridiculously difficult if you're trying to arrange flights and hotels in advance. Places are already booking up all over Germany....by December it will be hard to find anything....much less January....which is when you will find out if you were successful in the December lottery.

FIFA is driving me nuts with this crap. I just don't see the reason for not opening up the next lottery sooner than 6 months from now.

WHY oh WHY do they do this before the holiday weekend... *growls*.

Just wait....it's going to get insane soon. I was working on the Hill during the Thomas confirmation hearings. It made One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest look mild by comparison.

It's already insane. It's like the stunned disbelief has now turned into full on battle mode.

So much for a relaxing summer. *sigh*

Ya gotta give it up for the Chief Justice, he really loves that job. It said in the story i read that O'Connor wants to spend more time with her family, LOL. I guess now that her sons are in their fifties, they're really starting to miss her.

Yep it's going to be nuts. Not to drag this forum into politics but O'Connor stepping down is bigger than if Rehnquist had based on the fact that although conservative....she's never been monolithic and is moderate on many issues. And....what's going to get the media attention (even more than normal) is that she was never willing to take that last step and totally over-turn Roe.

If Rehnquist had retired....GWB would just be replacing like for like. With O'Connor retiring....the replacement will likely (not definitely) have more impact on many areas of the law.

We need a new title, I liked "Plan Nude from Outer Space" out of all the earlier recommendations. I'm outta here to go get breakfast and read the USA Today. Back in an hour, see y'all in the new thread. I'm so hungry, i think i might get sausage and bacon with my scrambled eggs today.

The combination of a law school education and previously working on the Hill are a dangerous combination.
