I heard on Fromthelane that the club expected this bid to be turned down, but there is a second bid being made and they think this one will be accepted.

I wonder if Kanoute or Keane will be involved.

...I hope Jol Kan throw Fredi in the deal. Let the Geordie fans suffer him.

He's a great player and all but we don't need him, we have to many midfield players now and we would be wasting 6 million in my opinion.

I do like Jenas, when he first went to Newcastle he was very good. But i think him and Carrick are to similar and neither of them come up with many goals. We do need a goalscoring centre midfielder like Poyet with abit more flair.

second bid may be 7.2 million.

I rate him, he's much better as a central attacking midfield, so playing in front of Carrick and required to go forward and support the forwards. He'll give us the pace and athleticism we really lack in central midfield. At Newcastle he's spent too long playing deeper or used out wide. I think in a consistent run with us and Jol coaching him, he could develop into a top class player.

That is true Sendo, actually i remember when he joined Newcastle he did score a few goals including one at the Lane.
In the 2002/2003 he scored 6 goals

...couldn't of put it better myself. We need a flair midfielder playmaker like Mintal, Rosicky, etc.

We don't need him anyway. Use the money on Rosicky!

Sod Jenas. Technically good player but very boring, always looking to go backwards or sideways. Not attack-minded at all. I was very surprised to hear Man Utd and Arsenal were interested in him at one stage. Dyer on the other hand....

Now that is a player I would like at our club.

Dyer offers so many different angles to a squad.

Pretty good in a fight too!
No way they'll be letting him go though, and even if they did i don't reckon he'd join us.

On the subject of the Toon Army, i did find utterly hilarious Laurent Robert's latest critical outburst aimed at Souness. Newcastle should be a top-6 club every year and the longer they keep Souness in charge, the better chance we have of getting into and cementing that status. I find the thought very funny that Souness is probably worth several million pounds to us (and a number of other clubs) just by staying where he is and continuing to do what he has been doing.

Robert is a idiot, Newcastle are paying his wages until Friday so they have fined him for it. He could have waited and had his say in The News of the World.

Premier League rules state that a club cannot fine a player in the last 30 days of his contract.

His story will be in the News of the World anyway though.

Well he got fined again today for saying Souness will sell Jenas.

I think the whole Robert thing is so funny. Bates had a pop at him but I totally disagree with Bates, Robert has been treated like ******** by Newcastle and (regardless of whether he deserved it or not) it's so funny to watch Newcastle fine him and expect to come out on top, yet he does the same thing again! It makes Newcastle look weak.

...he didn't that is just paper talk. I told you what the rules state. I also sent a copy of the rulings to the Evening Standard & The Mirror so that they could amend their text.
