Jens is starting for Germany vs. Brazil in the Confed Cup today. Klinsman continues to rotate between his 2 keepers = Kahn is scheduled to star the next game if they advance.
Adriano scored an amazing spot kick in the 20' minute vs. Lehmann. Jens was totally left flat footed and made no effort whatsoever to make a save.....
Is Lehmann still our #1 next season??

True, the deflection totally changed the direction of the shot. He had little chance if any to stop it.

I think you are being a tad rough on Jens. I mean Adriano isn't exactly a garbage player. Mad Jens is our guy next season, so deal with it. He is a Gunner through and through, in my book.

Rumors are still out that we are looking for a replacement. Jens played well during the game, and if we could get an [R] in the title we could go a little more in depth. I think Isaksson would be a good signing, but I would really want the team to pick up Stekelenburg from Ajax. He impressed me when we played them in the Amsterdam Tournament last summer. I hope to see some more of him again this year. However, with the way that Jens has been playing lately, I could see him holding on to the #1 spot for another year.

I watched the Brazil/Germany match and could not for the life of me see a deflection on Adriano free kick, which was from about 30-40 yards. It must have because Lehmann didn't get close to it, but I didn't see it, even on the replay.....it just looked like the bend Lehmann was eyeing never came.

ah there was such a deflection. lehman had the ball covered perfectly. that wall was about 15yds back the ball hit the defender and span off the other way from lehmann. nothing he could do

Deflected by Deisler IIRC. So really no way to save that one.

I thought Jens played really well in the last 10 minutes to at least keep it close. 2 good saves that I can remember.

Agreed. Jens had little chance on the first 2 goals (deflected fk and good pk) and the last one would have required a pretty good save against a very good attacker. The third goal was created by a mistake from one of Germany's young CB who looked out of their depth pretty often. Anyone using this game to argue against Jens being our #1 next season is simply clueless.
