Vergara let the FMF/National Team use his private plane.

I can just see punishing Vergara for something stupid he says and then asking him, "Hey, um, can I borrow your plane and dont worry, I wont touch the Chivacola"

Actually, that was very generous of Vergara. Even if he made some dough off of it, th FMF didnt have to spend as much dough. But I am probably willing to bet that the FMF didnt even spend a dime. They have to beat potential sponsors off with a stick since many want the Tricolor on thier product. :D

if my mother, futbol de primera's niece, Levante's sister, and Various Styles half cousin can arrange a midnight orgy with the players and can get the Mexican trainers to tighten thier slits for the player's satisfaction, we have a good chance to win.
I fixed your post :D

Ricardo Lavolpe, técnico de México, señaló que tiene un equipo competitivo que seguramente será protagonista durante la Copa América Perú 2004, aunque un 70 por ciento de la prensa no crea en el Tricolor.

Mexico has to win this Copa America. It doesn't get any easier than this one. Uruguay's players are not concentrated and didn't even want to go, argentina is sending a b team, ecuador is beatable.

This is Mexico's best chance to win it all. This is an opportunity they can't pass up.

Argentina may be better off with their so-called "B Team", as these guys are going to be hungrier to make their mark in this tournament than a bunch of veteran prima donnas.

I would say the Argie team is more of A/B team.

Mexico has to get by the first round. they already have some big advantages. Mexico is bringing pretty much the best players (could use some sub-23 players), the Mexican players and coach are have a very positive and winning attitude going into the Copa, Uruguay is having problems with their directivos and have had a pretty bad qualifying run, and Ecuador is a team that Mexico usually does well against. the only team i see could pose a difficult task to Mexico is Argentina.

Lavolpe intends to cop this trophy with the veterans everybody's so upset about him bringing, believing they'll give Mexico the edge over the young and less experienced squads of Brazil and Argentina. After which, he'll show us all his magic with the sub-23's at the Olympics. Then we can declare him God.

I'm sure people will find something they can complain about towards Lavolpe if all that happens
