Apparently it was just a chance meeting between two people on holiday... according to Adriano and Rio Ferdinand who were also on board :D

....were those two players really there? If so, we know who Chelsea's new front man & centre back will be.

LOL Sendo, it looks like Arnesen has already started working for them with Chelsea ready to complete a deal with Grasshoppers for Swiss youth player Jonas Elmer.

Has anyone seen the picture of Arsesen & Abramobitch?
If so, please insert a link here so that we can see it.

I'll try to find a link to the photo but this is Chelsea's defence of the meeting:
A club statement said: "Frank and Roman know each other and were holidaying in the same area.
"Roman and his wife then invited Frank and his wife for lunch. It was purely a social occasion."

...what a load of rubbish. Abramobitch's yacht isn't your average yacht. Its nearly 40 meters in length. It's no rowing boat. He could never have seen Arsesen from it. It was planned.
The thing that annoys me the most, is that Chelsea lie and then laugh at there own lies because of how stupid they are. Then they get away with it!

geezus, this deadline crap is embarrassing. just pull the facking trigger, levy, and file the damn complaint.
but, of course, that's not likely. since levy's already come out and said that his sole concern wasn't punishing chelsea (read: justice), but maximizing/minimizing tottenham's gains/losses, i suspect that he's going to take whatever chelsea has on the table at 11:45 - and i doubt that it will be sufficient.
damn, i hope i'm wrong. i hope chelsea thinks that levy means it. more importantly, i hope that levy does mean it. because while getting quality and/or lots of cash would be best, i would much, much, much rather see us get nothing and chelsea be discouraged from doing this kind of business than see them continue to act with impunity in exchange for nothing more than cole or huth.

I agree with Levy that we have to do what is best for us. I think it is a good thing that Levy will meet with Abramovich that means they are finally taking it serious.

one could conclude, then, that taking carlton cole and a slice of pound cake (or even just the cake) would be better for us than phoning up the authorities.

agreed. i suppose i shouldn't have said that the ultimatum was an inherently bad thing. if the russian carpetbagger takes it seriously, it could all work out well. i'm just saying that levy had better mean it, because it doesn't really jibe with the 'what's best for us' thing. but if it is a bluff, and if russki calls his bluff, we get the pound cake and chelsea's new modus operandi gets legitimized.

The ultimatum is perfect for the situation as it stands. Not worth dragging it on into pre-season and the release of this photo has got the media whipped back into an anti-chelscum frenzy. I would be very surprised if Chelscum do not fold now Roman is personally involved.
As it is, it's better for the club to report Chelscum than to accept a trivial amount of compensation such as Carlton Cole for 1 million. There is a breaking point between the level of financial gain and the need to protect the club's future interests. Accepting Carlton Cole for 1 million would be weakness, a sign that a minimal payoff is enough to get away with illegally tapping up and recruit a key member of the club.

seems that's the way of the world at the moment. certainly reminds me of the standard operating procedure for the regime in charge of a certain western, "democratic" nation.

I just hope if we get money it is not going to be 'undisclosed'. Hopefully the club tell us what we get.

If it is true, then it does seem like we are collecting center backs as well as central midfielders.

If it is true then we'd have two of the biggest scariest centre backs around in Huth and Huddlestone. I'd love to see Paul Dickov trying to get the better of them two! They'd swat him like a fly.

Apparently we don't want any of their players, just £10m in used tenners

....we'll have to see if that is true. But if it is, then expect us to sign a player for a lot of money.
..the tenners are blood money from Siberia.
