Cat's Cradle rocks!! Great venue! And attracts some really hot bands.
Rolling Stone rated Chapel Hill the #3 college music market, mentioned the Cradle....btw, what did you see there? did you go to UNC?
I'm not putting Phish in my mouth! :)
Yeah, I'll plead the fifth here... ;)

No I just lived out there for several years. I didn't go see a big name band there or anything, but my girlfriends and I used to go there. Of course the fact that there is a Ben & Jerry's up the road (and an Armadillo Grill) didn't hurt. That whole Franklin St. stretch from UNC to Carrboro is great.
Did you go to "The Top of the Hill" restaurant/brewery? It's at the main corner on Franklin St. It was always one of my favorites.

Hey I'm just glad it was diet pepsi that you squirted. I had to do a double take reading this. LOL
So right about Franklin st. GP and the burgers at that place just across the st from top of the hill...yum.
Phishy, you'd love armadillo grill. No tortilla served is more than 30 seconds old. Yum! I used to spend my entire lunch break driving from one side of Chapel Hill through to Carrboro and back to pick up some Armadillo Grill food.

The only way to deal with that *************** is to absolutely and completely ignore him. Just stick him on the ignore list and continue on b/c otherwise he's going to taint our OT threads just as bad as smelly ole Mel B

Can I tangent? Yes, I believe I can in the Off topic...
I loved the pumpkins...one of my favorite bands for sure. In college, I was a college rep for the Pumpkins label...round the "Machina" days....for the release of "Machina" I was asked to work a pumpkins show at UNC (Cat's Cradle). Turns out Melissa Auf de Maur freaked and went awol for a few days. So because a full band Pumpkins show was not possible, Billy did a 2 set solo show (his first solo gig in like 2yrs...)
Not only was the Cradle a cool venue of only 125 cats, Billy's show was INCREDIBLE. did a beautiful "Today" on the piano, James came out...they did a couple songs, of which I can only recall a sick "Drown" (one of my favs)...but that wasn't even the best part. For the encore, Billy pulled fans out of the audience, one guitarist, one drummer, one singer, and a writer. Together, they wrote an improv song....it was about a friend of one of the players who had some injury...they finished the show by all playing a fun "1979".
I remember Billy being very interactive with the crowd, having a great time...if he's an egomaniacal jack ass, he sure wasn't this night. It was one of the most memorable shows I have been to!
"Nothing left to say...."
Ryan-Drown is a great tune but I am partial to Rhinocerous (sp)! Love the Pumpkins-saw them at the Masqurade in A-town years and years ago! :D
