I hope he does go. Doesn't produce enough for the cash he gets.

Freddie is not paid that much, certainly not among the top earners and probably gets only half what Keane is on.
I imagine they will only sell him if they can get someone better.

.....Kanoute earns a million and Keane gets around 1.5 million.
6 goals a season and 5 assists isn't worth 1 million a year in wages (excluding bonuses).
Defoe is now on a reported 1.2 million a year. He scored 4 times more goals than Kanoute.

actually Keane is on over 2 million a year. he was on monster wages at Leeds and the club had to get close to them.

the guy earns 30k per week or about that. That equals around 1.5 million give or take a little.
Where did you read that he's on 2 million plus?

If we get a bid around £5M then we should accept it for sure, dosn't produce the goods enough on the highest level, then we can buy Peter Crouch :)

I heard Keane gets £45k a week, which means he earns £2.34m a year

Lyon turn attention to John Carew.

I thought keano was on £40k p/w, that's the top of our wage structure.
Anyway, Marseille are in for Fredi too apparently. Where are those Malian superclubs when you need them eh?

I like Fredi :o . I think it will actually be ashame to see him go, IMO he offers something that the other strikers dont. That's holding up the ball and linking play. IMO Keane is shite at that, Defoe the same, and Mido, well have not seen enough of him to comment.
At the end of the day the rumours about Jol being upset w/him missing the tour, may have a bit of substance to 'em.

Kanoute seems to annoy most of his coaches.
Santini - Lyon
Redknapp - West Spam
Hoddle/Pleat - Spurs
Santini - Tottenham
Jol - Spurs
He also annoys me.

you just hate and have a vandetta against him for some reason.

Here is why:
Earnings: £1 Million Per Year
Goals: 6
Assists: 5
Is that the sign of a good striker????
I don't like the lanky bugger because I know that he is such a talent! But he only ever displays that talent 5 maybe 6 times a season.
Kanoute is like Titus Bramble. On the Newcastle forum, you have those who love him, & those who hate him. I think he's crap, but that's another story.
Kanoute could be one of the best strikers in the world if only he applied himself properly.

The only time he had a disagreement was with Santini at Lyon and Pleat over playing for Mali.
I don't believe all the talk of Martin Jol being annoyed with him, Fredi is not a disruptive player and i think if the club wanted him to play or go on the tour he would have gone, i think they just wanted the big men to rest and not get a stupid injury in Mauritius.

I think you are mistaken. The Mauritius story does hold some truth. He chose not to go when asked if he could join the team. Jol is a family man, and views the clubs & players he works with as a family.
Fredi isn't a disruptive player, but he has annoyed Jol on this one.

We will have to see, but i reckon he will start for us against Portsmouth on opening day.

Not if we can get £5 million for him.

Then we better have a replacement lined up, and not Carlton Cole or Crouch they are not better than Kanoute.

...I agree with Cole not being good enough, but I am not too sure about Crouchy. Maybe he can become a better player. He has the right attitude, but isn't the best finisher is he.

Is it just me or is there a paucity of decent strikers out there? Perhaps we should just try to get Nico Claesen back to the Lane

Maybe Fredi will get a new contract!
