No thank's.
He's a prick, that's where it begins, that's

bowyer is scum. Any league that wants to maintain a decent image has a difficult time with that wanker around.
Anyways as fishbiproduct said, you can see thousands of englishmen playing on tv, since you won't be seeing bowyer live anyways, living in the states and all. Besides a brit in france is about as novel as a german in france. Not common but not something worth the trouble either.

Just on a sidenote fish, you've got to be carefull using the 'tard on English boards..... A plus tard, is different than the English version, tard=retard, retard mental.
Unless you were calling sportboy a retard, and if that is the case, I retract these comments.

well i've seen one, and his name was chris waddle, and for bowyer to walk in his footsteps would be the worst of criminal abominations.
are there no prisons? no workhouses?

Yep. He's probably assaulted all the English girls so now he wants to broaden his horizons.

There is a difference between what a player want and what club want.
I never heard rumours about Bowyer in a french club.
I don't think he has got the profile of the British player whom always sought the French clubs.
Chris Waddle (Marseille) was an awesome dribbler and an affective freekicker.
It was more considered as latin player than british player.
Trevor Steven (Marseille), John Collins (Monaco) was was also considered as goods technicians. This last was a good freekicker.
These three are forwards or midfield playmakers and clubs never hesitates to bet on creative players, who are very rare.
I don't see a french club buy a player like Bowyer, expensive and with such big wages (from the point of view of French League). Some good and inexpensive french can do the same job as Bowyer on the pitch.

No sentence should include the names of Lee Bowyer and Chris Waddle together (so I just broke my own rule). Chris wasn't/isn't the brightest, but he's no thug. And even today he's probably still a million times the player Bowyer is.
Besides, what French team needs/wants Bowyer???

Besides, what French team needs/wants Bowyer???just as waddle was symbolic of the great days of OM, bowyer is perfect for today's pale copy. they could add dhorasoo, laurent robert... players who, for all their talent on the field, can do nothing but tear a team apart in the locker room and the press.

You've got me there, Guignol. Perhaps Bowyer is just the man l'OM need--a dysfunctional dude for a dysfunctional team/organization.
I wasn't aware that Dhorasoo had a reputation for being a problem--I certainly wouldn't mind seeing him in Marseille. As for Robert, he's too busy getting fined by Newcastle to cause problems anywhere in France, thankfully.

When did John Collins play for Monaco? I seriously can't remember exactly when.

It would be a massive step down class so maybe playing in this league could give him some confidence.

Collins was at Monaco around 1997. He was french champion with them, I think. I'm almost sure he played the 1998 WC while being a Monaco player

Concerning the sheer level of play, newcomers are usually quite surprised when they come to ligue 1. Our best teams hardly match other championships best clubs in European competitions though the average level is not that poor.

Are you kidding? Seriously....
Half your team comes from league 1 and many didn't leave as "superstars." I saw almost all of Henry's games with Monaco in 98, and he was by no means a star. In fact, he was a bit of a liability up front, a terrible finisher. And Pires, you snapped up after getting run out of Marseille. And Cygan, don't get me started with him....
The list goes on and on. Don't come onto our board throwing out stupidities about L1 being a step down from your over marketed, over hyped premier league. Lyon are a better European team than Arsenal, so shut your pie-hole.

First of all how can you compare Henry as kid to when he was in his prime?? Cygan was garbage in both leagues and us arsenal fans would want nothing better then to see him off. How many own goals has he scorred this season?
Ligue 1 is a Step down, how can you deny this? All the best France's (sorry I mean Africa's) best players leave For better leagues when they are young. Until recently the Ligue 1 has been nothing more then a feeder league.
I admit that france is getting better though (by excepting rejects from bigger leauges) but it will never be on the same level as the big three. I would put Ligue 1 on par with the Portuguese league.
:p
