MIddlesex has 1.5 overs to score 30 runs. Don't think it'll happen. Pathan was out for a duck.

"Glamorgan 183-8 (20 overs) beat Somerset 183 (18.4 overs) by losing fewer wickets"
we got to see the tie-breaker rule go into effect, with both teams tied, the fewest wickets taken decides who wins.
"Glamorgan scrambled a bye off the final ball for a dramatic win over Somerset under the Sophia Gardens floodlights."
six matches tonite-
Derbyshire v Leicestershire, Derby
Essex v Kent, Chelmsford
Gloucestershire v Glamorgan, Bristol

I'm going to the Roses match at Old Trafford next week. Should be a cracker of a game.

Nottinghamshire v Lancashire, Trent Bridge
Nottinghamshire 198-5 beat Lancashire 106 by 92 runs. no surprise for those who think Lancs is a one man team. Brad Hodge doesn't play, and they lose by almost 100 runs, with the openers being taken for single digits.

It's a shame there's no 20/20 at international level - it'd be interesting, to say the least.
Of course, I say that as a Pakistan supporter who thinks Shahid Afridi was born for 20/20...

Sorry I forgot all about this.
To be honest it wasn't the best of games, Lancashire made a lightening start (no pun intended) through Mal Loye and Stuart Law and were on course to break the 20/20 record before the rate dropped a bit.
Yorkshire though never got going, losing Harvey early on killed any hoped they had.
It was a miserable day at OT, raining the entire game pretty much, but the atmosphere was still pretty good.

I went to the Lancashire v. Derbyshire game yesterday and it was another good one.
Mal Loye and Andrew Symonds were superb.
The Phantoms were flying along at one point but just fell apart. The sun was so bright that you couldn't see the ball half the time, and a child near me nearly got brained by a 6.
Surrey beat Warwickshire in a bowl off, the first in 20/20 so they'll play Lancs in the semi.

What is a bowl off? I guess it's the equivalent of a PK shootout but how does it work?

A bowl off means that 5 bowlers from each team have 2 deliveries at the wicket. No batsmen present. Whoever, has the highest number of wickets wins. If after the alloted deliveries the number of wickets is equal then it goes into sudden death.
So you're right, just like PKs.

so they bowler just try to knock the stumps with no batsmen there?
is it really that hard for them to do that??

LOL. You wouldn't think so would you? I watched the whole thing live and my god it was embarrasing. It was, wait for it, 2-2 after the first ten deliveries by both sides.
Mind you, I'm useless at bowling so I'll leave it to others to say how difficult it really is.
There were a few no balls and wides thrown in for good measure, to give you an idea of the accuracy.

That was the dumbest thing i've ever seen on a cricket pitch..
I don't know how else they could settle a draw but that can't be the best way

I know. I was squirming a little myself for them. Cringe-worthy. Maybe they should just pick the best two batsmen and the best bowler from each team and play an over. Whoever has more runs wins.
Then again, there's prolly a plethora of reasons why that may not work.
As a side note: the bowler (can't remember his name) went apeshit with the celebrations. Good job it wasn't at lords, the old farts would have had an eppy no doubt.

It's Twenty20, right? A tie, right? To settle it, why don't they play a Five5 match then? 30 balls for each team, obviously the team with the most runs... wins.
Bowl offs is just a stupid way to settle a match.
