The 5 teams with most fans in the world are:
1. REAL MADRID 257.1 millions
2. MANCHESTER UNITED 180.9 millions
3. JUVENTUS 147.8 millions
4. BAYERN 125.7 millions
5. BARCELONA 58.3 millions
Are these the most famous european teams of soccer in USA?

This response is just a guestimate.
Manchester United and Barcelona definitely have large followings (at least by the number of jerseys around). But I've never seen definitive numbers either way. I've seen statements of Manchester United being the most followed EPL side in the United States but other than that, I can't verify anything but I figured I'd try.
I think everyone on the list of the world but Juve would make the Top 5 in the United States.

Man Utd certainly seem to me like they should be at the top. Aresnal and Liverpool should be up there as well, probably ahead of Bayern anyway. Maybe Celtic?
Of course, there are those who would insist the British clubs aren't really "European".

You'd think in Houston you'd see a lot of Club America and Chivas jerseys. I know I see a ton in Chicago (especially Chivas). They're actually the most common jersey here but since the poster was asking about European sides, I didn't mention that.

i've actually only been in houston for 3 days :) but i have not seen a single soccer shirt here. I lived in Salt Lake City, Denver, Kansas City, Bloomington Illinois, and Minneapolis in the last 2 years and that observation made above holds true.

Are these the most famous european teams of soccer in USA?If we're talking most famous Euro teams in the US today, we probably have to include Liverpool in any discussion. They got a lot of coverage in the mainstream sports media after the CL final. They probably don't have as many jerseys as ManU, Real Madrid, or Barca, but people have certainly heard of them now.
[Btw, you definitely see the America and Chivas shirts (and car stickers) in Houston, although Tigres and Rayados are also common because of the large number of people here from Monterrey and the surrounding areas - I happen to own a Rayados jersey that was a gift from a friend from Monterrey.]
