There's a nice Korean BBQ out in Annandale that I was put onto a while back. I've taken a couple of the lads there after games.
The best part is that it's open 24 hours and the patrons are dressed to the nines. I mean, you've got three Nest/Barra denizens after a match, covered in sweat, beer, and goodness knows what else surrounded by all these folks that look like they just got out of church grilling sturgeon at 3 AM.
Stuff like this is why I love DC - so many different pockets of culture.
I live in Wheaton, which is another pocket of Korean culture too. I usually shop at the Korean grocery stores (there are 3 large supermarket Korean grocery stores nearby) about as often as at Shoppers Food Warehouse (and more often now that somebody got shot at SFW).
Annandale also is a good place for Korean restaurants.

Earthquake in Alaska. Hope every is OK at home Caroline.

My real question is when in the hell did the Richter Scale go away and they come up with something different??

Thanks, Go! My mum actually called me this morning at 8:15 (which is 4:15 in Anchorage) because she couldn't get back to sleep, but she was fine--just bored!! And I had no idea they changed from the Richter Scale! It was good enough for the Good Friday earthquake, by crackey!
--This is why I think I'm lame: I don't do stuff like go to Korean barbeques nearly often enough. I live here in this cool place where you run into people from every culture and I need to do more of it.
--Dani, sorry about the Giants' loss. :( They'll come up big next game, honest!
--Alan Smith is a cutie....
--Still dang tired.

Someday, we should go to Korean barbeques then. There are many fun things like that in this area.

Hmmm... Third game of the World Series and the Giants are in it. Definitely some sort of trend.
They dumped the Richter scale a while back. It wasn't accurate enough.
From the USGS site:
Recently, another scale called the moment magnitude scale has been devised for more precise study of great earthquakes.

Oh man, I thought you were kidding - those things really are in the BS shop....
(I'm reminded of the latest issue of FourFourTwo and the feature therein on a line of clothing for female footy fans in England. One of the items profiled was thong with the appropriate area decorated with a soccer ball and "Take a shot" or somesuch....)

Plus the gambling on who can't handle the kimchee is always fun. :)

Damn, moment magnitude scale just doesn't cut it like Richter Scale. Who knew we were not measuring earthquakes accurately all those years!!
Don't worry Dani, I saw the Orioles lose Game 7 of the 1971 Series to the Pirates. Talk about depressing!! :(
All of La Norte will be wearing BigSoccer thongs on November 17th.

That would be me. I don't like kimchee. (I don't really like hot food that much.)
But, hook me up with some bulgogi, and I will eat massive quantities. I love Korean barbeques. That's one of the things that I like about my town. I buy it pre-marinated at the local grocery stores and bring it home to cook up myself.

Moment magnitude scale sounds more like what one would use to measure the magnitude of the moment for much more personal occasions...not for damn earthquakes.

Sweet!

Nope. If you can get your hands on a mess of shredded paper, that would be nice, but your $$ and your aguante is all you need.

Perhaps the night before the USA vs. El Salvador friendly? That way I can come too.

That will the first time any underwear has been worn in La Norte.

Damn right. I've missed a lot of Simpsons episodes to hear the (mostly not even intelligent) commentary from local news people.
-Bigsoccer thong...have we gone too far, or not far enough? I'm confused.
-So I'm thinking of sitting in La Norte this Saturday. Are there still tickets? Can I wear underwear?

You are not lame.
I need to go to Korean restaurants more often. There's some in Aurora that I should goto when I have spare cash. I go to Indian restaurants at least once a month but need to hit Korean ones too. There's also a Mongolian BBQ restaurant in LoDo that I need to go to but haven't.

Mongolian BBQ places rule, too. Too bad the closest decent one from me is over the river and through the woods in Bethesda....

Damn, it's been fuggin dry in Colorado this past year:
http://www.weather.com/newscenter/topstories/021023codrought.html
I was near Lake Dillon on Saturday, up in the mountains north of Keystone, and damn was that lake low. It looked like a giant puddle. The dryour parts were hundreds of feet long.
The next time I go to LoDo I will get people to go for Mongolian BBQ.
