Good to see Lupoli getting some attention. I hope he can stay healthy and get in some more game time to further develop.

Hey the sexy boy pose actually deserves a sexy boy! :p sheesh-tough crowd........
I did not say that he wasn't talented or anything-he has a solid youth international background and will hopefully get more playing time for us this autumn!

(Better Phishy????!?!??!?!!!?)

Our Italian is better than yours!

Seriously though... how is the boy progressing? I've not heard much about him recently, but last I checked a few months back he was tearing the reserves up... is he almost ready to make the leap?

Haven't heard too much lately, but I'd like to see him get some first XI starts to build up his experience. It is a different game in the reserves.

Saw him first hand in a reserves match in December (got to meet him as well):

Obviously, he's got to put on some size. I'm about 6ft & 175lbs, so my guess is he's about 5'11 & 150lbs (I'm actually on a higher step). He's always been a prolific goal scorer at every level & his bio is pretty impressive:

I'm actually looking foward to him & Cesc possibly coming to Montreal in 2007 (we're one of the host cities for the under-20 World Cup). Wonder if AW will make the trip to scout some new tallent. :D

It is a different game in the reserves. This is true. Cygan typically is only responsible for one goal a game, but in the reserves, he's good for two!

now you're comparing the championship with the premiership..

he's 16 year old striker, i doubt wenger will play him against the likes of west brom, bolton and everton.

No, you missed the point. You were talking about playing his playing poor against a physical championship side yet giving him a break. I was saying that the premiership is a higher level and can be more physical, thus, if he is getting the crap knocked out of him by a championship side, I doubt he is ready for a first XI premiership start. Stop trying to make it look as if I am too stupid to understand football and read the post.

Well this thread has developed well... anyways. Lupoli plays for the reserves so those are the only numbers you can count on.

In the reserve league he played 20 matches and scored 19 goals. Pretty darn good if you ask me.

Arturo failed to score in the final game at Derby but ended a prolific first season at Highbury as top scorer in the Reserve League. The young Italian pipped Aston Villa's Luke Moore to the honour after scoring 19 in 20 starts for the second string.

Total, according to arsenal.com, Lupoli played 30+2 and had 27 goals.

Sorry Rick, I refuse to acknlowedge you or your stupid authority (:D), because I'm going to (briefly) drive this thread further off topic by giving an interesting fact.... which member of ArseAm is Luke Kelly? Because he shares the same name as a legendary Irish singer who was a member of The Dubliners (they wrote The Irish Rover & Dirty Old Town, if anybody knows those songs). The guy was one of the most punk people even before punk was a trend, and wound p drinking himself to death 10 odd years ago. For a second there I thoughthe was sitting under a 'Guinness' sign :D. Kind of along the lines of Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, etc...

So anyway back on topic... it's funny that a ear ago the general concensus around here seemed 'yes! We got Lupoli!' while over us United fans seemed to be thinking 'well, at least we got Rossi, he has a lot of potential', and now the opinions have switched. That said, Lupoli can turn out to be a quality player.

championship is without doubt more physical than the premiership, not only that but it's harder for a 16yr old new to the english game to play in.

i'm pretty sure he would of done better against a midtable premiership side.
