Dear Blog,

Well, our vacation is over. I'll miss the beach and the pool with the bubbles and jets, but I did learn a little this week.

- Pool Bar Jim's Lava Flow is a great way to counter the effects of heat + high humidity

- Heat + rain = Excellent excuse for Long Island Tea and Galavision coverage of the U20 World Cup. "Jeez honey, we just had family time yesterday!"

- Those new surfer style swimtrunks that hang fashionably low when dry... fall off completely when wet.

- Shrimp suck at trivia. Suck at table soccer too!

- Complaining about the judges of a sandcastle contest does not set a good role model for your children.

- Since the children aren't here: Employee/judge Bobby sucks @$$ for saying he couldn't choose one mermaid entry over another. Feh...

- FIFA must allow for post-match reviews of calls to negate the potential impacts of wrongfully awarded cards causing players to miss matches. Freddy Adu was tripped up, period.

- Tension build up from too much time with the in-laws? Those resort showers are large enough for some quality self-neg-repping!

- For the first time in my life I entered the pool area self conscious of my hairline, waistline and bottom line. (Honey, I'm getting a refill on my "tea.")

- Lowland water courses. Rolling hill courses. It doesn't matter: Lost golf balls are lost golf balls.

- Road trips with kids too young to entertain themselves are surely responsible for half the sale of headache medications in the US!

- Cracker Barrell chocolate chip pancakes RULE!

Yep, nothing like a family vacation to make (avoiding) work so damn attractive! It's good to be back. :D

Very fortunate my in laws a nice time share they have.

Yeah, we bought our minivan before those things essentially became standard and have yet to find the right one (read:cheap enough) to put in. I'm hoping Santa will come through this winter...
