Exactly. We were just responding appropriately to an idiotic post! ;)
There is never anything wrong with shining light on someone's idiocy.. :D

What he and I call it isn't fit for a G-rated board. ;)
God, I think I need to ask for a new sub-forum just for that....

It's a movie rating meaning "acceptable for all ages". I think I'm going to have to write an "American English Dictionary for the Englishman Talking to Americans". I have a feeling it will be a best seller in England... ;)

If we can take the time to learn what "boot", "bonnet", and "******" mean, Rick, you can surely get in touch with your inner-American. :D

"G-rated" is the rating given by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) to movies that are acceptable for small children. Not to be confused with "G-Unit" in any shape or form.

LOL! My bad Rick, I realized as soon as I hit submit that that wasn't very culturally sensitive of me. ;)

And Kangaroo Court will remain the main forum so that the convicted may be mocked by the greater number of posters.

If you want to know, the main issue that generated the complaints is that the OT thread had a core group of posters, and when anything happened outside the OT thread to one of the regulars the others arrived en masse (see yesterday's Lupoli debacle). There were also complaints that on topic threads were hijacked and blown off the rails by OT posters all too easily.

I'm in a tough spot here. I basically started the OT Thread concept with "Off Topic of the Day", and it became popular, but then there was backlash. Alas, no matter what Rick or I do I'm sure that someone won't be 100% satisfied with it, but we're doing the best that we can...

I wouldn't necessarily agree with that, esp regarding the Lupoli thread. There were a number of us OT and non posters replying with mostly all on-topic comments when a certain member let loose. And since that member had and has attacked nearly all of us, replies insued. There could have been more decorum, but sometimes enough is enough. There was one main problem with that thread and a card was dealt.

There will always be some jokes or OT comments in a thread, no matter what the topic. But most of us try to limit it, at least I have been trying to get better.

Greetings all.
Rick, nice to see you back around these parts. You've been missed.
Coach, thanks for the sub forum.

You both do a really good at keeping everyone relatively happy and it's obviously a thankless job.
So.....THANKS A LOT (and I think in this one instance I can speak for the group).

Hey im trying!! I mean since Ive come here the whole of WW2 History has changed for me, just ask Phishy...... :D

I guess it's the same as our PG (Parental Guidence) rating. What do you call the bonnet then? I know you say trunk, which to me is a old fashioned suitcase (see Harry Potter!!).

The Lupoli thread was just an example. I know what person started the whole thing, and I'm certainly not defending him, but it was just the most recent example of what people had complained about.

Yes, we have "hoodies" (mostly worn by what you would call "chavs"). And, yes, we refer to the part that is pulled over the head as a "hood", as well.

We have no shame!
