nice Cam...glad you like the site...if you want to delve further into bittorrent, as bighorn said, I would be happy lend a hand (I also know of some other sites you might be interested in)
I saw the Dead once in Atlanta-spring of '94.......could not tell you what the set list was because my favorite Dead songs are compiled on a CD called American Beauty....the hubby is a huge Dead fan-he loved it and I just wondered how anyone could tell what song was what........I like to sing-see post about beer bottle microphones......so while it was interesting, it was not my favorite show.......
Not knocking the Dead at all so please don't anyone take it like that! Just not my favorite! :D

That site that Matt put up yesterday has most all the shows recorded, so I bet you could find the one you went to, if you're interested. The nice thing about bootlegs is they are pretty long and have some really good versions of songs. Great stuff to have in the background all day!
No worries Steph, we all have differing musical tastes which makes it fun! It would be a boring world if we all liked the same thing.

Interesting take but to an "outsider" that is pretty accurate Phishy! All the songs bleeding together is cool but I could not figure out the songs! :( I am sure that if I had chosen that night to try 'shrooms for the 1st time it would have been a different experience for me-I could have been a Twirly girl......... :p

like I was saying yesterday, some people go to see Jambands for the music, not the drug experience (sans the millenium phish show-rollin' with the homeys like a mutha!)...

the drug experience really puts an incorrect perspective on what its all about..
and it used to not be that way..

I know almost every word to every REM song ever written-so I know what you are saying. I like the studio albums by the Dead and Sugar Magnolia (cue the laughing-I am sure you guys think it is a lame song! ) is my favorite but since I am not a huge Dead fan, I could not recognize a lot of the songs they played-I am pretty sure they did not play that one!

I think that's the picture many non-Phish and non-Dead fans (such as myself, though I know this isn't how it really is) have of those concerts: a bunch of hippies in an amphitheater with a huge cloud of pot smoke hanging above. It also never helped that many of the Phish and Dead fans I knew in high school in college were stoners who used to say things like "the only way to listen to Jerry Garcia play guitar is while you're high!" Didn't exactly make me want to start listening to them.

Thanks...you know I tried to get into SCI (I do like them) and currently like Umphrey's McGee...the kids at these shows are too focused on partying...it just isn't the same :( that's why I wear my Bill Walton GD shirt that has BW's picture on it and in quotes:
"Please, not right now....the band is playing"

What is not to love about that song! Some of the coolest lyrics put to paper to describe a relationship! :D
.....she don't come and I don't follow.....

And what, pray tell, is the percentage of people into jambands that aren't listening while "rollin"?
;)
I'll admit my bias, I cannot get into ANY jambands. Any. Well, unless you count some MBV and Stereolab as "jam-esque" but that's very different.
