It's almost time again.

Don't miss your chance to get your hands on these one-of-a-kind shirts seen here:

It's almost time for another Border War, let's let remind our southern neighbors of exactly where they stand in the CONCACAF pecking order. These are high-quality midweight shirts, made of 100% cotton and weighing 5.4 oz apiece. With most US supporters choosing to wear red to games, don't let the USSF fleece you into paying $28 plus shipping for a t-shirt; at around half the cost, these red shirts will stand out in a crowd and the screenprinted white text, reading "Mexico Sucks" on front and bearing the score and date of the 2002 US-Mexico World Cup game on the back, will be easily visible from a mile away.

All orders must be in by noon on Monday, July 13. CustomInk.com promises 14-day turnaround; however, we don't want to run any risk of not having shirts on everyone who wants one on September 3, thus the early deadline. Kirsten Tautfest, who is handling the monetary side of things and the shipment, should receive the shirts by the end of the month at the latest; from there, they will be shipped via USPS and you should receive them no later than August 10.

PRICE: $15 for your first shirt, $13 for each additional shirt. SHIPPING IS INCLUDED!!

SIZES: Adult sizes from S through XXXL and youth sizes from XS through XL are available.

HOW TO ORDER: PayPal your money to Kirsten Tautfest at hori_too@yahoo.com . If you prefer to send snail mail, e-mail or PM me (fowleral@bc.edu) and I will give you an address to send your check to. Please do not forget to include your size(s) and address that you want your shirt(s) shipped to with your payment. Multiple shirts must all be sent to the same address in order to take advantage of the discount. Remember that however you send the money, it must be received by July 13.

OTHER STUFF: If you have any more questions please e-mail or PM me (fowleral@bc.edu) and I will be happy to answer. I am willing to bring the shirts to the game if someone really does not want theirs shipped, however I strongly discourage this as we may not be able to find each other on gameday, especially if I don't know you (particularly since I am thinking about going to the Ohio State football game beforehand). I will also PROBABLY be at the Trinidad game in Hartford and the Gold Cup semifinals and final in New Jersey; however, again, since I don't yet know for certain that I'll be at these games, I strongly advise everyone to just have their t-shirts shipped. If you really want to get yours in person I will try to accomadate you, but you do so at your own risk. Finally, if this sale is a success, we may be offering other customized t-shirts in the future. Neither Kirsten nor I is making any profit off this, we're doing it for the "love of the game" so to speak, so I hope people don't look at this as spam.

Get those orders in, see you all at the game, and GO USA!!!

(sorry to post this here as well as the Fans and Travel forum, I realize this may not be the best place but wanted as many people to see it as possible; if the mods could sticky it too that'd be great, thanks)

Who are the marketing geniuses who came up with that?

Whenever you walk around Philly or DC you see people wearing "Dallas sucks" shirts, when you walk around Boston you see people wearing "Yankees suck" shirts, when you walk around Denver I've heard you see "Detroit sucks" (Red Wings), etc. I'm just bringing this to US soccer. Is the slogan imaginative at all?? No, but it's short and to the point. I can't wait to wear it in Columbus, and for good measure if I get to the World Cup maybe I'll go to a Mexico game against Slovakia or someone and wear it there too.

I love the shirt, but I'd probably get shot/beaten/stoned/etc. within seconds if I wore that shirt here. I'd instantly acquire about a million enemies here in the greater Houston area.

I feel compelled to comment on this shirt. Hopefully I will not be shot and hung out to dry...

[Begin Rant]

If not for the rather ignorant (IMO, of course) statement of the front of the shirt, this is otherwise a very classy slap on the face of our Mexican counterparts and a rub in the face they never, ever forget.

But the front, unfortunately, has a very ignorant statement that, should you wear it, says more about us as US Supporters (and you, the wearer) than it does about the unforgettable 2-nil victory(ies) and our continued successes we've gained over our southern neighbors.

The statement on the front of the shirt shows an inferiority complex. It's a way of not only flexing our muscles to show that yes, we won 2-nil, but it also shows a derogatory belittling of ourselves.

You might be thinking, what is this Poster talking about when Mexican fans chant "Osama. Osama". But think about what comes to mind when you hear those chants. When I hear (well, when I heard -- note past tense) it, it does not spark thoughts of anger in me. Not at all. It sparks thoughts of feeling sorry for those who wish to chant it, that these sorry souls have that little respect for themselves that they have to resort to such slanderous remarks to elevate their cause.

I live in Boston; we all know the rivalry between the Red Sox and Yankees. Unfortunately there are Yankees S%ck teeshirts sold all around Fenway Park. And back before the Red Sox actually earned respect for putting up, chants of "Yankees S%ck!" would break out everywhere. Still does from time to time. Interesting thing is that the average person wearing these shirts and chanting these slogans are young, say high school age, kids. Few adults are seen in them. That should be telling. For the most part, the same is true with the cheapshot chants. In fact, several local sports writers and non-sports columnists for the Boston Globe have written articles essentially begging people to "grow up", to knock off the chants.

I hope we are not so low as fans to purchase a shirt with such a phrase. We are better than that. Please join me in standing up against this put-down and refrain from spending your hard-earned dollars on this. Seriously, we are much better than that.

As I said on the Fans and Travel board, it's not creative or original and it doesn't try to be. It is, however, to-the-point, brutally honest, and catchy.

In fact, several local sports writers and non-sports columnists for the Boston Globe have written articles essentially begging people to "grow up", to knock off the chants.

I go to school in Boston, the problem with the "Yankees Suck" chants is/was two-fold. First, until last fall, the Yankees had bragging rights over the Red Sox so chanting "Yankees Suck" was almost self-demeaning--yeah, maybe they sucked, but they usually beat the Red Sox, so what did that say about them?? Second, I've never heard people complaining about "Yankees Suck" chants at a Sox-Yankees game. The problem is the people also chant it when the Sox are playing the Tigers, Devil Rays, etc., which is pretty pathetic. Hell, people were even chanting it during the Patriots Super Bowl celebrations. Same thing with BU fans who chant "******** em up, ******** em up, BC sucks" at hockey games against Providence; it's pathetic. Sure, we chant "Sucks to BU", but only when we're playing BU. And to that end, I don't think any of the people who buy this shirt are going to wear it to a US-Panama game. I'll be wearing mine on Sept. 3, I'll wear it at any future US-Mexico games I go to, and if I'm ever at a game between Mexico and someone else I'll wear it there, but I won't be wearing it at US games against other teams because that'd be pretty stupid. Against Mexico, however, there's nothing wrong with it.

I hope we are not so low as fans to purchase a shirt with such a phrase. We are better than that. Please join me in standing up against this put-down and refrain from spending your hard-earned dollars on this. Seriously, we are much better than that.

The slogan aside, it's a hell of a lot more affordable than anythign available on the USSF site

Moving thread to USA Men Fans & Travel, and merging accordingly.

I think one thread for the overall forum will suffice nicely.

I think it's fine. Perfect for the game that day. It's how we do things in America. Look at all the examples dfb gave. And then theres tons of examples on top of that. Here's another: Notre Dame's "Catholics vs. Convicts" T-shirts when Miami was their big rival.

People will just wear it that day, and then probably the next time they wear it will be when they're painting the living room.

It's poignant, factual, and it's red. Good stuff.

I wouldn't wear it in LA or Texas, and even here in KC it might be a bad idea to wear it around. But I'd buy this shirt to wear to the 9/3 game in Columbus. What the hell is any Mexican fan going to have to say to that shirt? They're going to see it and have one of two reactions: 1) Laugh it off as they should because IMO half of the joke of the t-shirt is that they don't really suck we just like to say they do because we beat them or 2) get pissed and do nothing about it because you're with a bunch of USMNT fans so you've got them in numbers. :)

Either way, the shirts not that bad. And if you don't like it.....DON'T BUY IT.
