Basically says that Carlton Cole will be involved in a swap for Arnescum. It also says that Tottenham will pay Chelski 1mil for the move. Not sure if this is true, found it on the Chelski board and then went onto The Times. What do you'll think of this if true?

IMO Jol certainly has a knack of turning poor players into good performers, you just have to look at the success he had at RKC. His skill is knowing where a players best position is, and build formations to accomodate his players strengths and weaknesses. This can be shown from the players sold from RKC, how at their new clubs they are less than successful.

I feel Jol is the best thing that has happened to us since Burkinshaw, I think that if he is interested in Cole as a player then we should trust his judgement, the guy is built like a bull and is quick. I think he could be an excellent foil for JD. Just needs some confidence in front of goal. If this is true then I expect one more signing, that of a creative mf.

Mind you nothing has been put on the official site yet, so this can be seen as Journo fantasy until then.

I hope it is just more paper talk.

I see phrases like "Martin Jol believes Cole has great untapped potential" and I begin to really fear for our post-Arnesen ability to operate successfully in the transfer market. The only question I have about Carlton Cole is whether he and Carl Cort have ever been seen in the same place at the same time...

....as do I.

Jol isn't a miracle man. Cole has off the field problems.

Cole has off the field problems.

Cole is not worth the risk.

...exactly. If he fails, we won't be able to sell him on to anyone. He's already making a bad name for himself.

What off-field problems? Not seen anything in the UK press about that.

Also, i know he was crap for villa last year but was he hampered by injuries perhaps? He looked very good initially at chelsea

and for Charlton. He made a poor choice going to Villa, they struggled to find consistency and I think you're right that he was injured during his time. Not sure about off field problems, I think however there is a ? over his attitude.

He IMO has the potential to be very dangerous, he is a big lad and quick. And during his under 21 days was getting some praise. So if Jol can work on him, he may turn out alright.

Still this whole Chelski saga needs to end it is getting in the way for Tottenham's advancement.

And if we tried to report them to the FA now, surely the FA would laugh. I think Chelsea will drag this out as long as possible without settling. The longer it goes on, the weaker our position

it's real annoying reading some papers saying that a deal should be done in the next 48hours and then others saying the two clubs are poles apart.

I have nother question, how come teams are able to sign players before July 1st? I thought that's the start of the window. Newcastle unvieled paycheck man, in their shirt. How can clubs do that?

Transfers can take place basically when the season is over, remember last year Robbo was our player before the end of May.
