I believe this has been discussed at great length before on this board and I'll probably catch a lot of Flak but I want to know why SAM's Army won't change the color of their shirts. I appreciate what the following they give to our National Team.
I wish I personally had the time and financial resources to become a part of this great organization and I understand that it has been the Traditional color for a long time but the time has come to change...
I really could care less whether they be white or blue or red-white & blue but the red has got to go....I don't like looking at the stands when we play Costa Rica or Panama and seeing a sea of red...
It gives the appearance both from the stands and especially on TV that those Teams have a huge fan base even when the game is here at home.
Isn't it time to change to become more visible???

Why am I wrong?

Because that's the way its always been???
You can't deny that it gives the appearance of major support for those other teams whether that is accurate or not...especially to the casual watcher that only tunes in during WCQ and doesn't know any better....

If its a new Era for the USMNT then how about a new look for its number one support group...

Maybe you should write to the USSF and ask them to sport a red jersey instead. That way Panama and CR couldn't wear red at our home games.

Unless we choose green, we'lll run into it no matter what color of our flag we choose.

red - Costa Rica, Panama, Trinidad
white - Guatemala
blue - Honduras, el salvador

LOL...yea lotsa luck with that on getting the USSF to do anything in that regard but it still doesn't solve the problem with the away games...look at the recent panama game in panama for example...everyone in the stadium was wearing red whether for the US or panama.

Red stands out. White and blue don't.

If you really could care less then just buy a red shirt. You don't have to belong to Sam's Amry to wear red. It's really not that difficult.

I have a red one but it doesn't stand out when everyone else wears red also.

Even if all the American fans at the Panama game had neon signs on their chests the whole stadium would've still been red.

Perhaps another color for when there is a conflict is all that I am suggesting.
No one says the reds can never be worn again...

That's the goal! To get everyone to wear red for the US. I was at the US vs Costa Rica game in Salt Lake. There was a lot of red (thanks to RSL). It stood out and the vast majority were supporting the US.

You know that the supporters wear red. Wear red yourself and if you come across casual fans that don't know and are confused, spread the word to wear red.

Maybe you can form your own supporter's section and wear blue?

That's a good thought but it's hard enough to get everyone to wear one color. One step at a time.

I understand what you are saying and I agree but its hard to get that message accross to the viewers at home who are not regular Fans.
IE:the ones(Fans) who only get interested when its time for the World Cup.

Seems pretty simple to me as there seem to only be a couple of teams where this becomes an issue and in this age of electronic communication surely we could get all coordinated for those times. keep the Red as the Primary then but wear a conflict when we play CRC or Panama.

I freely admit that it has been quite a while since I've worn red to a USA game. Although, the article of clothing was always one of the national team...AND NOT A CLUB TEAM FROM MLS.

I honestly could care less about the color of shirt worn by US fans in the USA supporter's section. I do have issue with people wearing a club shirt to a national team match, whether it is a stand alone match or a double header with the host MLS club playing next. Never did like it in Foxboro, Columbus, DC, or East Rutherford.

This was all hashed out in a thread halfway down the page.

Great, make damn sure everyone wears red when Panama and TNT come here. That way it will look just as ridiculous as the match in Salt Lake.

The US team doesn't wear red anymore.
I'm wearing blue or white, the same colors as the team.
Get it?
