after a great fight vs. Celtic Glasgow 2:0 for Basel, we were qualified for the UEFA Champions League...
now after 4 Rounds we have a good chance to reache the 2. group stage! last Thursday there was a unluky 2:2 vs. Valencia CF.

Can you beat Liverpool at home? That game will decide. Remember the "away goals" rule. You currently have the upper hand, my friend.

yes i know.... it's a smal "Final" in Basel! i've made all posibilitis with this calculator i gave you, the one avay goal is a gread credit.
And i'm sure we can beat Liverpool at home! FC Basel is a very strong team at home. All teams have to go through hell in the St. Jakob Stadium. "I hope so" ;)

I believe DC lost by 4-6 goals. I think my friend reffed the match.

4-1 Basel against a disinterested United side that couldn't find the net any other time all summer.
Namoff scored on a Maradona-esque run.

Namoff scored on a Maradona-esque run. From what I recall we had our azzez handed to us. We may have been disinterested, surely were unorganized and played many subs, but the fact remains that they dominated and clearly outclassed us. I, for one, am very glad to see that the team that thrashed us is doing so well in the Champions League of Europe.
Congrats and Kudos to Basel!
Maybe next time we'll give you guys the respect you so definitely deserve.

I second that!
And from the sounds of it, I'm glad I missed that friendly...sounds pretty gruesome.

Mmmmm....donuts....
Well, we played a team that has advanced in European play and may advance again. Of course, they handed our asses to us on a paper plate.

This is true, plus we weren't exactly tearing up MLS when this friendly happened.
I am all for Basel continuing in the Champions League, I've seen them play a few times now (Summers being two blocks from my office rules), and I continue to be impressed by their play.
Good luck Basel - I'll be watching!
