Don't like it! A bit of red trim would have been enough.

I thought it was based more on the Ajax strip from the 70’s!

I thought it was based more on half of the St. George's Cross, as I'm sure the kit designers did. Ajax's red line in their vintage kits is much, much wider; so much so that I'd say it's a red kit with a white side and sleeve colouring.

Clearly the Ajax tops had stripes that were a lot wider

Must be an attempt to reach out to the "North British" fanbase .... To go along with the Orange tops from a couple seasons back .

Clearly not appealing to the eye. Almost as bad as the gold Celtic jersey :o

Can't remember England having any red stripe down the middle of their shirts. Unlike Ajax of course.

Oh come on! That's ignorance of Timbhoy proportions! It's just like the 'tangerine' strip. It's a great marketing move by Rangers, make a strip very similar to an England one and it will sell very well indeed.

Don'y see any issue around it being "like" the England strip, what's the worry ?? eh at the risk of being ignorant in the other direction this time :d

In recent times some Rangers fans have discovered a new found love for England, more like a anti Irish thing along with the union jacks(plus the gloryhunter thing comes into it a little, the 'Scotland will never win anything so whats the point' attitude disgusts me). The 'England' thing with Rangers fans adds to the problems between the OF in Scotland. It cannot be doubted that this strip has been madeto look like an England strip, it is made to make money at the expense of bigotry in Scotland; shameful behavior IMO.

Might just be me being blinkered again ;) but I fail to see Rangers fans wearing and buying English or English looking merchandise can be construed as anything to do with bigotry, might just be me right enough, now the orange shirt......:)

Thin stripe down the side eh? :D I'm sure we've had change strips that were pretty much all white before - those probably looked more like an England shirt (but I don't recall anyone suggesting it). This nonsense looks very much like clutching at straws by the unsuccessful! :D

The red stripe that goes down to the middle of the badge in the kit used in 2004 ring a bell? Weird how you can't remember it; then again selective memory when it comes to Old Firm matters is hardly new on this forum, is it? :D

For what it's worth, I couldn't care less if Rangers fans want to regard themselves as British or English or Martian or whatever. I do object to our intelligence being insulted by these allusions to the glory of Ajax of the 1970s, however, when it's beyond obvious what's going on.

I suppose the wee Union Jack took its inspiration from the Saltire but was tarted up a bit, for example? I think not. Again, I don't have an issue with how clubs want to align themselves - but I do take exception to the covert and frankly cowardly way Rangers go about it.

If "this nonsense" refers to the frankly ludicrous Ajax claims then, yes, I fully agree.
