Mark Coker is finalizing the details with SUM Monday, I believe. I will ask him to update everyone here.

Meanwhile, SUM is upsetting the apple cart in Seattle, at least according to the Sounders fans. They sent off the Sounders v Timbers match scheduled for the 8th to a small suburban stadium.
In short, expect a protest.

SA doesn't even have the two Seattle matches listed on their website...
(Though the Costa Rica match in Foxboro is)
Looks like we're on our own... :(

I saw on Sounder Central that Coker's been getting the SUM runaround. They want him take the tickets on consignment. I can't blame him for not wanting to do that.
Looks like SUM is picking up where Inter-Forever left off in terms of working with USA supporters groups.
The George and Dragon's quite a ways from the stadium...I know for the Honduras match in '02, we all got together at the Pyramid Alehouse, which is stumbling distance to the stadium.

Can we just pick a section behing a goal and all sit in it? We've been having supports section problems, this almost happened in Birmingham. Something needs to be fixed. I'll stop bitching now

with all due respect, nothing of this sort "almost happend" in birmingham. You live in Portland, why don't you step up and get involved. Yeah, to stop bitching now would be a good idea.

The cheapest tix on Ticketmaster spit out Section 146 (Bleachers behind the North Goal). Seemed appropriate but I'll wait to buy until we get there to try and avoid TM fees. We're coming up from SF since this is about as close as we ever get to a local match anymore. Hope to see (and hear) some rowdies there.

I got my 4 tickets for the family on Thursday. They have enjoyed the Sounders so I can't wait to see their reaction to our MNT.
Any word on how tickets are sold so far?

There was some discussion on Sounder Central about getting in Section 149 as high up as possible. They're all reserved seats and it'll allow like-minded USA supporters to meet up. It's not like there'll be substantial interaction with the Cuban supporters :D and I doubt the Tico fanticos will stick around for the USA match.
I guess if the plan is to grab one of the end sections, one has to ask: Take the FX McRory's end or the Pyramid Alehouse end ;)

I like the idea of just picking a section - for us out of towners, what would be best (I guess at this point I'll just pick my tickets up at the gate)?

Gold Cup Seattle US Supporter Info from the Seattle folks......
7/7-7/9 USMNT v Cuba/Canada Gold Cup Seattle INFO:
Since it was announced there would be two USA national team matches in Seattle back in March, we have attempted to get a section for USA supporters (Sam's Army at the stadium.
First, we were told that the normal USSF contacts would be of little use, as it was a CONCACAF-run tournament. Eventually, we were given a contact at SUM that would assist. Finally he notified us that the stadium had a section reserved behind one of the goals, but that they wouldn't be able to handle "tens, hundreds of individual calls with such a specific request." Consequently, SUM asked for a way to consolidate the ticket order, and proposed that one of us take tickets on consignment. Nobody was willing to take on that financial risk.
***As a result, we are asking those who stand up for the USA to get seats in Section 149 as high up as possible. A call this evening to Ticketmaster indicates it goes up to Section UU. However, all tickets are reserved seating. Going up high, will allow us to do our thing without disturbing those who support the team in other ways.***
The plans for pre-match gatherings are to meet up Thursday at Pyramid Alehouse, and tailgate on Saturday. More on that shortly, or check:

If you're in Seattle, you can visit the Qwest Field boxoffice and save the Ticketmaster "convenience fees."
Row UU is still available. The guy who sold me the tickets asked why we're going up so high. I told him we didn't want to offend the sensibilities of the Woodinville soccer mom brigade.
