Tottenham have been linked consistently with a move for the former River Plate man and I wanted to get a feel for what you all feel about him. IMO I think he would be an exceptional buy for Spurs. I saw him back in his River days and was always impressed with his passing and free kicks. For a little lad he gets stuck in which will be needed in the prem, I understand the Clasaura(sp) and Apentura(sp again I apologise) is also not for the weak willed.

Tottenham have of course had some excellent Argentinian players in Ossie Ardiles, Ricky Villa and Mauricio Tarrico (some may argue with me about that) Do you think Andres will follow in those lines or be a bust? Cheers

As a Boca fan I've always been impressed with what Andres can do. He's still young and has a lot to learn as well as mature. Potential wise he's top shelf his quickness and skill will frustrate some. He's also a tuff little f))ker. Doesnt shy away from contact but really is a small person. Maybe 5'4 130 pounds. When he's on he's special but sometimes he fades away. I'd love to see him do well.

Bad decision IMHO. Until he's with a coach that will utilize him right I feel he'll suffer. I'm pretty sure VFL Wolfsburg changed coaches at seasons end. I know the Boss put system over player and that had an affect on a few of their players. Wolfsburg were very boring to watch last season. Let's hope a new coach will empower El Cabezon. He may have been a gallina but he still has great skill.

p.s. Viejo if you read this don't think I've become soft. Dale Boca!!!!!!

from today, interesting. Looks like the agent is all about making trouble. Where is a link about signing for more years? I have been keeping a close eye on this and also have been on the official Wolfsburg website, there was no news on it.

Chicken. Nickname given to River Plate after they lost a final to Penarol (was it them?) a while back.

Cabezon is really skillful and a fighter, but may be too small for a league like the EPL. I wish he'd go to Spain or France.

Bighead he is my best favorite player. He will be sucessful in sapin! i believe it!

He's the best player for Zaragoza in the starting of the season. Take a look to this rank (http://www.aupazaragoza.com/jugadorpartido/clasificacion.php) from a Zaragoza fansite

some his goals (including wolfsburg portsmouth and river plate)

Yes, the nickname came because the loss to Penarol, we were up 2-0 and ended losing 4-2. But the whole thing was started by fans of Banfield who we played next in the local league. During the game, they throw a couple of chickes with a "red band" across their chest. One of our players (forget who) got so mad that he killed the chicken with a tremendous kick. :D
From then on the nickname stuck and now it is even embraced by the fans and team and the monumental is sometimes called "El Gallinero". Just a little of the folklore of futbol argentino. :)

I first saw him play against England U21 in 2000 when he was 18 and he looked very good, but physically he looked a bit fragile. Then last season i saw him play for Portsmouth and he still looked good but he did not seem to have come on that much as a player.

he as been in the past 2 years. last year everything as going well to sign him, but in the last minute wolfsburg back off the deal and asked for more money. then he ended up going on loan to zaragoza. but zaragoza had an option to buy him, but they let it expire last month, so once again is gonna be up for grabs, because he's not going to stay at wolfsburg.
