Well, to my stupidity I started taking a weight lifting/conditioning course at my high school to help me out for High school soccer. After only two days of runing hills, and lifting, and agility/ab work, I'm feeling the consequences. I know its probably a good tihng , but my lower back, quads, and butt muscles kill! I do have a match later tonight with my Club team. I am also the only striker available for that game, and my team is definately relying on me. What should i do in the next ?4 hours before game time to help reduce some of the pain for tonight. Thanks

usually when im in a match i don't feel the pain because im too focused on the game, and/or playing in the game stretches out my muscles. it might not be the same for you, but thats how it works for me. just relax and focus on the game, it sounds like no matter what you are playing striker, so just take what you've got and make the most of it.

biofreeze brings back memories of the high school trainer's room.
I feel your pain with the muscle aches. Freshman year of high school I decided it'd be a good idea to go out for the track team to get in better shape for soccer. My coach put it best: "There are going to be times when you won't even be able to sit on the toilet, you'll be so sore." Man, was he right. But, it you will benefit from it, so stick with it. Eventually you won't be incredibly sore.

i work out three times a week, and sure you get sore, but when im in a game my muscles get warmed up really fast and i dont feel it at all.
