I have heard that david O'leary is trying to get Distin from Man City and Steed Malbranque from Fulham. There is of course the rumour of Bellamy aswell. I also heard a rumour that O'leary's trying to Get Robbie Keane.

What do People think of these rumours?

I think all of them a good players and would be good for the squad. I think Robbie Keane would be the best signing but i just can't see him leaving Spurs now that they are going to get ride of a number of there strikers.

Villa Pursue Persian Prodigy
6/28/2005 2:52:00 AM
Aston Villa are in the hunt for Iran’s teenage wunderkind Hossein Kaebi.
The 19 year-old won the first of his, to date 41 caps for his country, at the tender age of 16 and his performances as right wing back for one of Asia’s best teams have seen the player hailed as the future of Iranian football.

The hot-tempered player, who can also play in the middle, was born in the city of Ahvaz near the Iraqi border and plays his football for Qatari champions Al Sadd.

David O’Leary is looking to inject flair and pace into his team but may face some competition from Spurs for the youngster’s signature. The London club are also interested in Kaebi’s national team-mate Javed Nekounam.

I hear that Villa are competing with celtic, spurs and other clubs to get Robbie Keane's signature. Though I also hear that Angel has been seen at Birmingham airport with Saviola. They were team-mates at River, so looks like Villa will be favourites to capture the forward.

Solano is wanted by Athletico Madrid and Newcastle, Apparently Barry has caught the eye of Strachan at Celtic, and Hendrie is wanted by Wigan.
Though O'Leary has been running these personal checks on some defender named Daniel Agger, not sure if you guys have heard of him. We need a strong defender because J'Lloyd Samuel is playing badly, and we need Laursen to shake off his injury.
Because Baros rejected our contract, O'Leary may move for Keane or Scoop up Saviola on a free.

I don`t think we`ll sign Miccoli, it`s Baros or nobody for a striker. We might get Lescott in from Wolves for about £3.5m to shore up our defence. On the downside we might lose Solano :( .

I thought the Solano-Liverpool rumour was over, didnt Benitez deny the link?

Villa won't get Lescott this season. He's got 2 years left to run on his contract and Wolves don't want to sell (and if they did, the board would get lynched!!). Next year might be a different matter, especially if Wolves don't go up.

I'd say: NO HESTITATION, JUST GO FOR HIM! :)

It looks like Bouma has signed. Don`t know much about him but we really needed a left sided defender so hopefull it will prove a good signing.

As for the Stranzl rumour, it will depend on whether O`Leary wants to play Bouma at left back or centre back. If Bouma is being brought in to play left back then I think we might need another defender, with Laursen out for a few months at least.

Bouma was playing central defense in recent years but was a left winger when he came out of PSV youth into the first team. He's powerful and versatile. He is known to have the occasional c0ck up though, so not the most reliable of central defenders. Still, a good buy.

Solano has moved to Newcastle for 1.5million

RobB

Yeah, Solano has gone back to Newcastle, we get £1.5m and Milner on a years loan. Probably a good deal for both clubs.

The interest from Liverpool unsettled Nobby badly and he had to be moved on. He wasn`t in the right mental state to start against Man Utd and then got sent off after 10 minutes at Portsmouth, showing that he shouldn`t have started that game either.

His performances last season were good at Villa park but he became increasingly annonymous away from home. The younger legs and the better mobility of Hendrie and Milner will help us there. Unlocking teams a Villa park though may be a problem now, hopefully Berger can stay fit and provide the creativity.

I don`t know how Nobby will be recieved on his return. His departure is similar that of Dwight Yorkes and he got dogs abuse every time he played us after that.

Another transfer today was the loan signing of Eirk Bakke. 27 y/o, right sided/centre midfielder. Seriously injury prone and way short of match fitness. May be an old-pals-act by O`Leary for a former player.

Bouma's had a rotten time though. 4-0 to the Hammers on monday and a he gave away a penalty in his second game.
Good signing though. Have you lot heard DOL wants to put Angel on the wing?
