One of the commentators on the uefa.com panel show yesterday said he thought the reason he wasn't getting much playing time with Real was because he was too quiet and wasn't complaining enough! that the manager would rather play someone who might otherwise cause problems if left on the bench.

It's certainly time Sven gave him another look.

How could he do worse than our recent midfield?

The team is crying out for his skills and creativity. Yes, the style we play has to change some too.

I was dissapointed in Sven for not taking him to Japorea this summer. And surely after the poor showing during the draw against Macedonia Sven knows he needs something to add some spark to the squad.

I know this was an old story, but I was really disappointed when Sven called Sheringham, Sinclair, Keown instead of Macca, Andy Cole, & Lampard.
The midfield was quite weak, with Beckham recovered from injury only 1-2 weeks before the WC 2002, & Gerrard injured. Sven needed experienced players with skills like Macca.
That happened just like Fowler. He scored some goals in friendly match under Sven's era, but he Sven didn't bring him on, when England's playing against Argentina & Brazil.

Epic grave dig.

Also, Lampard was absolute, absolute balls then (not just the absolute balls that he is now) and was still playing for West Ham. He wouldn't have added anything to the team at all. I don't really think you can substitute those players for the ones you mentioned considering they play in different positions.

what the hell is the guys obsession with digging up old threads??

wont be long before he digs up a thread from the 1986 world cup and argues that terry fenwick should be dropped.

I think Stanley Matthews should be dropped for the next game.

If they would sack Glenn Hoddle then I'm sure the next manager will start Steve McManaman
