what is the deal with the "go, go, go, the red white and blue" song? why is it played? i understand trying to play a song that inspires patriotism and drums up support for the u.s. during games... but can't we get something thats... not a ricky martin song? its embarassing i think.

And it won? It's the worst song I've ever heard. It's just so cheesy.

It's never really caught on with supporters. Not like YS,A!, anyway.

it's an awful song. We don't have to have a catchy song to make goal celebrations worthwhile like so many other american sports. Let the fans take care of the noise, please

It's like they're trying to punish everyone when a goal is scored by playing this horrible song. Please, people, burn any tapes with that song on it that you can find and someday, hopefully, the song will be a distant memory.

Every time I hear that song I feel that US Soccer is trying to force it onto me. It's awful. I've never, ever heard anybody singing along to it. You can't force that kind of stuff. It's like when I was in college they tried to have the largest group of people in the US simultaneously doing the Macarena at a football game. Um, nobody did it. Too cheesy.

It has a chorus.....
Our legs will never tire,
Our hearts will see us through.
Blah, blah, blah.
For the red, white and blue.

celebrations shouldnt need to be encouraged! It should be a fact that your making noise for 90 mins!

They just need to switch the theme song to the Team America theme song. That'd get tons of South Park obsessed youth into soccer.
Just imagine the beauty of Eddie Johnson heading one home and the loudspeakers blaring:
"AMERICA! ******** YEAH!"

I love the song. Then again, I am a huge Journey and Foreigner fan. I think we should embrace the song.

At least we should make that a two part chant. But I don't think that the familyesque supporters would appreciate that.

Playing "Don't Stop Believing" would be better than this dumbest of all dumb songs.
I have "non-PC" words for that song too... that go something like the kind of "man" Ricky Martin is.
I was disgusted enough when Ricky Martin was chosen as the "artist" to represent the World Cup, but hey, most of the world's taste in music is pretty pathetic anyway. Why do we have to follow suit? I'd like to celebrate soccer once in awhile without having to be emasculated for it.
Do people REALLY think things like this are cool? Could we stop trying to sell soccer to 12 year old girls???? They already bought it. Now, I'd like to have it back.

The first time I heard that @#$^ing song was at the USWNT-Eire match in SLC a couple of years ago. I thought "That is @#$%ing annoying, but I guess there are a lot of little girls here for the Women's team"... when I heard it at the men's matches I almost lost it.
US Soccer, or whomever is in charge: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get rid of that song. What do we have to do to remove it? Maybe start a petition??

Well, there was Daryl Hall in 1994. And without John Oates, even!
And it could have been worse. We coulda chose England Dan and John Ford Coley.

I don't know how effective this has been in the past, maybe someone can tell me, but it seems to be the only way I know to get in touch with US Soccer. Maybe someone can tie a note to a brick and throw it through the HQ's windows.
