Let me just be the first to note that a goal was scored during the Sierra Mist commercial during the Fire/Chivas game.

They should make the advertising time a "Magic Minute" so someone wins a prize when it happens.
Then everyone's happy.

Yeah that sucked. I was too busy watching the commercial when it happened. The Sierra Mist commercials are funny.

You disappoint me. I'm looking for spewage of indignation & outrage, and you give me ambivalence.
Why do hurt me like this?

Probably because it was a high goal match....But if it was 1-0, I would be pissed. I hope they learn from this.

at the end of the day, this doesn't even rank in the top 50 things for me to complain about.

Personally, the side by side doesn't work at all. It's not taking 30 seconds to do a goal kick more like 15 seconds. The only way I see it fitting is during injuries. And there are usually enough in the game to justify the side by side.
If they just did the side by side during injuries it would work out really well.

The Sierra Mist commercials are funny.
They are funny the first couple of times you see them, but not after 20 or 30 times.

Maybe what they should do is just show commercials all the time and then when there is a good play they can just replay it because seeing the action live is over-rated.

well, you did see it live
it's not like anything close to the whole game is shown split screen
they do the split screen 2 or 4 times a game... about 20 seconds at a time... maybe more... i dunno
it's the first year they are doing it, so they will learn if they need to adjust when they do it, for how long, or whatever...
but for now, it's fine

I hope more side-by-side commercials can be shown. This league needs the money.

Anyone know how the corporate world is reacting to the side by sides? Do the sponsors like the set-up? I imagine this would be piqing some interest.
