DC United will be collecting canned food at the US-El Salvador game on November 17 (just in time for Thanksgiving). Collection bins will be at the Main Gate and Gate A. The beneficiary will be Food and Friends (they prepare meals and deliver groceries to people with AIDS and other life-challenging illnessess). You can read more about them here: http://www.foodandfriends.org/ Those who donate will receive a United for DC keychain (they may also have some other prizes, tbd).

One more thing: shouldn't "life challenging" read as "fatal"? Is someone who's dead be called "life-disabled"?

I just copied what they had on the orgs website (they do also bring meals to people with cancer; which some people do recover from).

Wiseguy!

I think that is a wonderful idea. I think that MLS should adopt this idea and have it's teams have food drives at thier home games.
