There are plenty of ideas. The problem is people only join in on the "USA USA" chant.

Here's an easy one, IMO. Almost everyone knows the tune for "when the saints go marching in" - We could simply introduce the word "yanks" for saints.

O when the yanks,
come marching in,
O when the yanks,
come marching in,
O how I long to be in that number,
When the yanks come marching in.

I like it I like it. Lets keep brainstorming and keep the players names in mind that look like main starters on the field to you.

I got to singing this when ever EJ was scoring early on. I would sing it in front of my Irish friend during games to show that American fans do sing, even if we just made the song up. He dug it. It was sung to "My Darling Clementine".

Eddie Johnson
Eddie Johnson
Move aside for Grown Ass Man
He's our Johnson and he wants it, Eddie (or 'he f***ing') plays for Uncle Sam

Change 'halls of Monctezuma' to 'field at the Azteca' and a few other changes 'we are proud to claim the title of US national team'

This Land is your land

I have always been a big beliver that Sam's Army should sing songs that truelt embrase the American experiance. We have such a rich history in the country and many a great and important song has been used throughout our history to represent the times. I present a few notable songs that are easy rember because they are all songs we have heard before in some capasity and because of their histroical importance to this great nation. Apologies if these have already been used or discussed.

Perhaps brainstorm on how to best alter them for football?

Battle Hymn of the Republic song.

Mine eyes have seen the glory
Of the coming of the Lord;
We are trampling out the vintage
Where the grapes of wrath are stored;
We have loosed the fateful lightning
Of His terrible swift sword;
The Yanks are marching on.

Glory, glory, US football
Glory, glory, US football
Glory, glory, US football
The yanks are marching on.

America (very patriotic song..even if its a knock off of god save the king) Think would sound great as a large chorus.
http://www.contemplator.com/america/america.html

My country 'tis of thee
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing;
Land where my fathers died,
Land of the Pilgrims' pride,
From ev'ry mountainside
Let freedom ring

Our fathers' God to thee,
Author of liberty,
To thee we sing;
Long may our land be bright,
With freedom's holy light,
Protect us by thy might,
Great God, our King.

When the Johnny(Yanks) come marching home again.

I really like this one too. Its easy and has a nice break of Hurahh!!! hurrahh!that would sound great in a stadium especially after a win.. Originally a popular civil war song.

When the Yanks Come Marching Home Again,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
We'll give him a hearty welcome then
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The people will cheer and the cup we'll tout
The ladies they will all turn out
And we'll all feel great,
When the Yanks come marching home.

The old church bell shall ring glory
Hurrah! Hurrah!
To celebrate our great victory
Hurrah! Hurrah!
Champions we shall rule the day
Fought with heart they all will say,
And we'll all feel great
When the Yanks come marching home.

Get ready for the Jubilee,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
We'll give the heros three times three,
Hurrah! Hurrah!
The laurel wreaths are ready now
To place upon their loyal brow
And we'll all feel great
When the Yanks come marching home.

Sung to Casey Jones by the Grateful Dead

Stopping your team, goalkeeper supreme,
Kasey Keller is ready, watch your speed.
Trouble ahead, trouble behind,
And another shut out just crossed my mind

First of all you gotta love the dead. But this song is too good to be true! Andy the Beasely one is great. Other people should put there opinions on this but I think your songs are outstanding. I am catching myself singing them here right now. Much love and light, Andy

How about converting the English's "7 German Bombers..." sung to the tune of "She's Coming Round the Mountain' except throw in Japanese Zeroes.

Goes sorta like this:
(arms strtched out like wings)
There are 7 Japanese zeroes(bombers) in the air, there are7 Japanese bombers in the air, There are 7 Japanese bombers, 7 Japanese bombers, 7 Japanese bombers in the air.

Then US Navy came and shot them down. The US Navy camae and shot them down. The Us Navy shot, the US Navy shot them, the US Navy shot them down. USA!!

Repeat until zero.

Works real well with German bombers and the RAF shooting them down. Anyone who had been to either of the two England matches this past week, definitely heard this entertaining ditty at least three times during the course of a match.

Kasey Keller
Sung to Oscar Meyer song
Our goalie has a first name, it's K-A-S-E-Y
Our goalie has a second name, it's K-E-L-L-E-R.
Oh, I love watch him everyday, and if you ask me why, I'll say,
"'Cause Kasey Keller has a way with P-A-N-A-M-A."

Speaking of chants - what was that Michael Bolton-esque song they played at the USA vs England game in Chi-town?

It was something like..... "Goal, Goal, Goal, for the red, white and blue"...or something like that.....

Where did that come from.

I think we also need a USA version of the "celery song." I was ROTHFLMAO when some England fans behind me started singing that one in the beer line. ;)
