Is anyone watching this? Former DCU coach Ray Hudson is on it as well as "Phil" and some other guy. It's a pretty good wrap-up of international stuff, MLS, USL and youth coverage. It's not the most technologically advanced show, but it gets the job done. I hightly recommend it.

The original half-hour highlights show American Soccer and the half-hour discussion show The Soccer Files (both on GolTV) were pretty good, but the fusion of the two shows in the hour-long discussion/highlights show American Soccer was brilliant.
Among other things, it's definitely filled the discussion void left by the restructuring of Fox Soccer Channel's MLS Wrap. It's definitely one of the shows that I look forward to watching to each week. :)
The only problem now is that Ray Hudson no longer ends the show (as he did with The Soccer Files) with his patented "Adios muchachos!". :(

Wow, MLS is getting old if people don't remember Phil Schoen.
He was the original voice of MLS on the ESPN family, IIRC.

... I thought so, I was just too lazy at the time to find out.

And he's even worse now than he was then.
He actually stated that the US National Team has not improved since 98'.
As for the show itself, I really do like the format, just not the application. Schoen as the figurehead is awful. Too much stumbling and bumbling and incoherent thoughts. I think the Hudson/Dean dynamic is wonderful. Id on't agree with those fellas at times but they do go at each other quite often and it's fun to watch.
The production values of the show are barely above cable access quality. They need significant improvement in this area.

This show i f****ing cool I watch every Wed. its far better that the MLS wrap and that other soccer show they have on FSC. I preffered they 'd still do it like before with two different shows but this will work for now.

that's taken out of context. he said "the US performance in the first half of the england friendly made it look like the national team had not improved since 98"

Ray still belts out a Hudsonism every once in a while:
"He's diving at him like a schoolboy; it looks like bandy on ice out there -- terrible defending!"

Yeah, Schoen still seems like he's trying to get his footing, but he's been doing this for so long, that can't be it. It's just how he is when we see him on camera.
The thing that gets to me is "...and that's something that we'll be talking about later." Count how many times he says this in an episode, it's usually about four or five times.
Still, a really good show, and I like that they show the USL as well.
The other guy on this week was a writer from a newspaper in Florida, St. Petersburg I think.

I've noticed in the last two episodes that Ray Hudson is ending the show with his patented "Adios muchachos!" again. :)

Unlike in last week's shortened episode, Ray Hudson was once again able to end this week's episode with "Adios muchachos!". :)

I was very happy to hear 3 professionals validate what I've been thinking and saying for a few years now: the gap between USL-1 and MLS is as narrow as it has ever been, and is getting narrower.
And I thank the gods that I did not see the goals scored agisnt the Kickers in Puerto Rico. I may not have seen them aired, but the USL video feed was enough for me to bang my head against the screen

I'm not quite sure about that one.... USL1 is not that close to MLS.... Then again, it's hard without week to week verifiable data.... but players who came from there (to MLS) were not that numerous nor successful, were they?

It's an argument of which the opinion is mine, and I can understand if someone disagrees. i never said that MLS and USL are the same, only that the diffrence between the levels of play is not as wide as it used to be.
As far as USL/A-leaguers making an impact: Dewayne De Rosario started professionally as a Kicker, so that's pretty good.
I don't wish to debate the subject. I'm just gals their is an informational outlet in the form of GolTV that acknowledges the play of all of the professional leagues w have here in the USA.
