The Salt Lake Tribune ran an article about Sam's Army. Sorry if it's already been posted but here it is:

Keep it going in Utah!

What a moron. Oh wait ... that's me!

Loved the first line ... was waiting for the joke ...

Monty Rodrigues was walking through the airport in Korea, site of the 2002 World Cup soccer matches, when he was stopped by a couple of Irishmen...

After reading this article, I'm torn between joining the Army, and sitting with my usual Loyalists seats.

Sit in the Loyalists' section...Sam's Army will carry the South side of the stadium...the Loyalists need to carry the North...with fewer numbers...the more the better for the Loyalists.

If we don't qualify, it's going to be Jim Jones!

We need more positive articles like this one across the US.. Great job Salt Lake, its fans, and to an odd extent, the media... if we had this kind of press nation-wide, we'd have a stadium full of crazy supporters chanting and standing....

Man that sucks... I give the girl an interview and all the contact info for the other people in the article and not only do I not make the article, she leaves out the one thing I asked her to include... "Wear red to support the US Men."

The online version must be more extensive than the Print version... at least it got out somewhere.

very accurate statement when someone in the article said that Sams Army is growing with and like our natioanl team. I'll predict another boost when we qualify for germany and another group of americans are exposed to the great game in Germany 2006. Still can't believe watching the germany game in korea there was a line to get into the pub at 6:30am in the US. We are growing!

People were in Summers all night just to see the 0630 game. For the Mexico game, I was there 4 hours early and couldn't get in. Wound up driving to a different place in Baltimore to watch the Mexico game.

For the Portugal game, they had people packed in standing shoulder to shoulder (that's when the fire marshal put a cabash on this).

I can tell you that in Korea, we were the only fans I saw that stood the whole game(I didn't see England or any team in Japan). I was shocked as I was standing with the Irish at their elimination match with Spain--the moment the referee blew the whistle, everyone sat down! To their credit, they stood for the 2nd half and extra time.
In France for the Confed Cup, we wouldn't sit down during our 3rd game, we were 0-2, and the French police or security were demanding we sit down. They were concerned the empty seats behind us couldn't see.
Props to all US fans who stand all game.

Here are a few pics from the 3rd game: U.S. vs. Cameroon in Stade Gerland, Lyon, France:

We told security that if they threw one of us out, they had to throw all of us out... and after some quick diplomatic measures, they let us stand, and we really offered up some good vocal support for the U.S. players... much to the bemusement/consternation of some locals.

What were some of the funny songs Sams Army were singing during the England friendly? I was behind you guys but couldn't make out what you were actually saying. I know y'all had something for David James and Sol Campbell. Rep to whoever shares what Sammers were saying during the game!

That's excellent! I love that stuff. We need to stand united!
