View Full Version : Check out these tunes
In the absence of a personal forum, and probably a major faux pas to start on the main board, let me suggest the following for tunes tonight:
Tim Easton. MP3s are available at: http://www.timeaston.com/mp3.html
Really good stuff, and Tim will be playing the Treehouse, Comfest, and Little Brothers towards the end of June.
if you only check out one, download Next to you.

Dude.. we're drinking...to hell with the tunes!!!
don't worry I'm getting a drink or two as well, you can't listen to Tim and not have a beer and a smoke. It'd be unpatriotic.

No dude we're really drinking and Vanilla Ice is rocking the mic.. Why are you drinking alone? :/
So I can listen to Mott the Hoople and not Vanilla Ice.

"Yea -- Here's a story 'bout my homeboy Randy
He was hooked on a girl named Candy"
You can't top quality lyrics such as the above..

DJ Quik can....
just listened to half of Get Behind me Satan, good stuff so far.
Not a single other Crew fan has purchased Get Behind Me Satan? It's certainly not a typical WS album, but there are similar traits. I'm going to give it another few listens before I comment too much.

I purchased it yesterday and, while it is definitely "different" than their past releases, I rate it a triumph.
Track #2, "The Nurse", is experimental as hell and will probably take a few listens to sink in.
Highlights for me are "My Doorbell", "The Denial Twist" (probably the most White Stripes-sounding track on here), and "Take, Take, Take".
I also rate the little bluegrass number, "Little Ghost" rather highly. I'm normally highly opposed to anything remotely "country", but I can handle this one.
On first listen, I'd give it a 4 out of 5 with a chance to grow on me.

As if you purchased it!
The White Stripes suck.

The blues track on there has some tasty riffs.
I don't purchase anything. I'm so poor I couldn't afford a cup of water.
I've listened to it now twice and agree with most of what DJ had to say. I would just add to that track 11 as ugly as I seem is a nice little acoustic number. I really can't say that there are any tracks on here that I don't like.

While other clubs discuss scarves, road trips, and meetings; Crew fans get to hear all about Zak's latest album purchases. I love being a Crew fan.
Whoops.. his downloaded music. Even better.

I'm including everyone in the revolution.
Face it this forum is otherwise dead, and become Crew's FFA. We don't have any scarves on offer. Road trips, organized by Crew at least, are unlikely, and meetings generally only happen at tailgates.

Anymore talk about the team and they will start to notice an increase with the suicide rate in Columbus.
