Well it appears as though there was unanimous support for draping stadiums with our flags.
But before we move forward, I just want to get something settled.
Many of you feel that we should get as many Stars & Stripes hung up as we can. Yet many of you also like the idea of alternative flags, state flags, or US flags with writing on them, etc.
So this poll is essentially to figure out what exactly we are aiming for.
By the way, thanks for the great input in phase one! :)

I think the Stars & Stripes should the the priority. Every U.S. fan should bring one to games both at home and especially abroad. In these troubled times I think the Gadsden flag (aka the snake w/ "Don't Tread On Me") is rather apropos too.
But having said that, supporters club & state flags - especially in games abroad - could certainly be a great lift, at least for specific players. Don't you think seeing a "California Republic"/Bear Flag someplace like Dusseldorf in a first-round World Cup game might give a bit of a psychological boost to guys like Donovan, O'Brien and Bocanegra?

I agree, the first priority must be to get the stadium FULL of USA flags. I do think though it would be great if we could get certain people to get custom flags to support individual players. The focus needs to be old glory though

I think it would be a good idea to get the stadiums full of Stars and Stripes first, because those are easier to come by, then as others start customizing individual flags with states/clubs/random US supporting flags, let them fill those in, or in addition to all the US flags.

I was looking at the old thread. I think im going to put something togheter for the USA mex match in columbus.
Wonunited has really got me thinking. Maybe get a 2 3x5 flags. Put em on a back drop and put like an inspirational quote on it or something. any ideas, just off the top of my head i can think of "We have not yet begun to fight" or else we could put NEVER SURRENDER or something in between the flags.
im really excited about these ideas, let me know what you think cuz im so motivated to make one.
it would look like this
USA QUO USA

We need to get the Stars and Stripes in a much bigger size then 3x5' .... We need a variety with 11x 14' etc.... You should attach where you are from/club to the bottom of the flag instead of writing on it...

Are the two choices in this poll A) standard US flags and B) alternative flags or are they A) some sort of flag that incorporates standard US flags and B) some sort of flag that incorporates state/supporters flags?
Also, what size were the England flags Saturday? are those 5'x8'? Or bigger?
Finally, I myself have worn my 5'x8' flag as a cape. That flies in the face of my earlier arguement against writing on the flag, but I guess I just see that as more accepted.

You can use the Admiral Perry flag ("Don't Give Up The Ship"), the San Capistrano Flag ("If you don't surrender, you will be de-nadded", in Spanish), the Bedford Flag ("Victory or Death" in Latin), Gadsden/First Navy Jack/South Carolina Navy ("Don't Tread On Me"), Fort Moultrie ("Liberty"), the Gonzales Banner ("Come and take it"), or the 1775 "COME! IF YOU DARE" Flag.

Good discussion, but keep in mind that flags with political slogans may not be let into foreign stadiums. At the Confederations Cup in France in 2003, I carried the Baby Ass Flag into all 3 games and each time, French police made me unfold it and they carefully inspected it for political slogans. At 2 venues in the US there was no inspection of the flag.
In the US, God knows what the rules are, but if you can take flags in you may have a crack at getting flags in with political slogans. the problem is getting flags in in the first place.

Stars and Stripes, rattler flags, state flags, other historical flags...it's all good. As long as the dominant colors on the flag are red, white, and/or blue (don't like the yellow rattler flag), it helps.

im trying to see if can whip this out by saturday...It will be roughly 5x7. The widest my banner shop can print is 5 feet. Stopping by after work to see what scrap material they have laying around that i can get for cheap.

I have the illustrator file if anyone wants it for the future, so you can change the location and the slogan...

To answer whoever was wondering about the poll...
The options are A) All US flags, the point being that they are our national flags, they are our national colors, and they are far easier to mass-distribute or B) Supporters flags, non-USA flags.
My only problem with B is that they are more appropriate for club matches because they detract (either with slogan or alternate colors) from the idea of swamping a stadium in red, white, and blue.
But if you want to incorporate something into a larger US flag, or change it up a bit, that is cool too, I like the idea of two Stars&Stripes with something in the middle. Or the red/white stripes. Basically anything that says USA at first glance.

Question: Is there a flag store from which I can buy the "Stars & Stripes" flag, but have the stars replaced with soccer balls?
I guess what I am asking is, if a store will design a flag to my liking.
Looking for a 4'x6' or 5'x8' size.

Salt Lake City looked amazing. A lot of people brought their respective state flags. Plenty of people had the stars and stripes in the crowd as well. I think England showed us how it is suppost to be done and we have responded quite well in a week

Did you do this for the game? I love it.
Any idea how much would it cost to purchase one of these for my local youth club? I'm thinking it could be an honor for someone to bring it to any USA game they attend.
So, when you say "banner" does that mean it's made of vinyl? Ideally, i would prefer a fabric version with this design.

Big fan of the 'Don't Tread on Me' flag, which I'll have to take off of my office wall for The Cup
