I think we should offer Harewood and/or Zamora for either Crouch or Dean Ashton, preferrably Ashton.

Tough world.

With the silly season upon us - its time to go shopping.

Let's assume we have £13 million to spend.

Fire away.

Y'want Kezman? =P

Who does, apart from his mum?

I don't know that we can afford Kezman or any other Chelsea player. For 13 mil, we may be able to secure Lampard's right thigh and possibly the knee just below it. I hear there's a possibility of procuring a lock of Drogba's hair for the same amount. Any truth to the rumors (or should I say 'rumours')?

You guys actually think Brown will be buying? Yea, he'll be buying a new Aston Martin or a new boat. Old Brown Stain could ruin a wet dream.

BROWN OUT

Maybe we could get Cambell and really pisss the sperms off.
Or a young Striker like Zola, to upset the true Chelski fans, having said that there arn't that many and the ones on Big Soccer seem quite Nice.
Shame we did'nt go up last year and get Cahill, do Millwall have anyone good we could steal this year?
Richardson on loan would be good though.

Buy American.....say, Clint Dempsey? I know he's going to leave us Revs soon enough. I'd love to see him in the Claret & Blue.

First off, well done Hammers!!! Bloody marvellous. Now us lot in the antipodes can get to see them again on TV.

As to spending. My thoughts:

1. First priority is to stay up.
2. Clear out some stocks. Lomas, Dailly, Brevett, Mackay, Rebrov.
3. Do we also lose Repka, Powell, Sheringham, Walker (following the injury, is he gone?). I think Repka might be worth keeping. He seems to have really played well at right back.

4. Hopefully we do not go mad on current players salaries. Keeping the wage bill done to reasonable levels is going to be important. Let them prove themselves before we give out payrises.

5. I don't think we should be spending large sums on other Premiership Players. Generally those that can move and would come to us are going to be either, too old, too expensive, not good enough or journeymen. I would prefer us to source some players out of the championship who we could get for reasonable money and wages.

6. We need 2 more strikers, 2 more central defenders, right and left back and 1 goalkeeper. I don't think we need any more midfielders at this point.

Can anyone tell me what has happened to Williams and Cohen?

Whatever happens, it is going to be an interesting summer.

Up the Hammers.

I second that one!!! Last year's Rookie of the Season for the Rev's and what a player!!!! Much as I will hate to see him go, I would be VERY HAPPY to see him signed by West Ham,whom I have followed through thick and thin for 35 years.Ask Sven about him---he saw him play on Saturday against England!!!

Dempsey would not qualify for a permit ... unless he somehow got an EU passport. I think Ireland already checked his background to see if he could play for them internationally and they got bubkus.

Having said that, I would love to see it.

If we were going to make a run at an American ... I say go after Eddie Lewis. Left footed and a proven commodity. Then again, we don't really need a midfielder.

How about Eddie Lewis at left back? He played there some in WC 2002.

Preston fans were a bit harsh with Eddie tonight. "worst player on the pitch"

i'm thinking head to France and pick up a couple of talents for cheap.

How about Cherundolo? He could be the new Steve Potts. Mighty Yank midget defender. He's experienced a relegation fight almost every season he has been at Hannover.

I believe Clint Dempsey deserves a trip overseas, he has proven to be consistant not only last year but this year as well. The Rev's would hate to see him leave but I think he would up his game when he see's better competition in Europe. I hope an English team picks him up.... They are bloody limp wristed if they pass him by.

How much luck have we had in France?

Okay guys - we can't have the Yank influx, just won't work.

---
France - that was our crap scouts. I recommend we hire a buddy of mine and we'll have all the young talents that the big boys will want... but before they even know about them.

I thought that was Noonan. (How long until Dempsey hits 75%?)

Regardless, the Eddie Lewis pick was dead on. There's got to be a stout German defender or three that is mad about meat-pies. Maybe Joe will get mad enough to come home. I'd even like to see DiCanio as a super-sub.

Then again, we could use some speed from our youth system.

So many possibilities, this will be a great off-season.....if Brown gets hit by a bus (metaphor).

I wouldn't mind a couple of Americans at West Ham. Dempsey looked good, Beesley and Donovan arn't bad either.

Southamptons goalie Niemi, we need 3.

Clichy loan from the Arse if Cole stays. Quality LB

Defensive mid not sure Mullins is up to it.

Ashton from Norwich would be my priority forward.

I'd keep Daily as a squad player, for years i have thought him a defensive mid playing out of position.

Hopefully Repka will stay now, if not Delaney from Villa if Piggy will let him go.

Wouldn't mind a utility player like Phil Neville, not my favourite but maybe in our league financially.

If out of favour at Brum Upson a left footed CB or LB.

I don't think they would break the bank but would help strengthen us.
