The source is well named for Brown because everything he does is 'smoke and mirrors'!!
By the Brian, you must be beside yourself now about going back home to watch the Hammers in the Premier League

I sure am Trevor, we get to Heathrow on the 7th of August and come back mid Sept, I'm just waiting for the fixture list to come out and then get the tickets to the Boleyn, and catch up with Theresa & her Toffee man!! :)

That's "£20m in salaries and tranfers".
Once we have subtracted the PL salaries that new players will want we can call that a maximum of £15m transfer money I reckon.
That will get us 5 players at £3m each on £1m per year.
Won't work out that way of course but it gives us an idea of what AP can do this summer.
My question is how can Brown resolve our financial strains including our debt of £30m (ish) if he is handing all the £20m Sky money to AP for transfers?
All the other money he will manage to scrape up will surely not make a dent on our debt.
Also what if we go straight down again? We will be back to square one financially if not worse. I know we are all optimistic about staying up but he should be planning for the worst to avoid the club's finances getting worse.
Perhaps this is a sign that he is about to jump ship if he is not planning to the end of next season...?

The debt is reportedly 24 Million (reported in todays press), don't forget that the worst case scenario (straight back down) means we're back into 14 Million worth of parachute payments.
Brown has said that if that was to happen we would be stable enough financially to avoid another firesale of young talent.
I so want to believe him!

Major mistake telling everyone how much we have. I know if i was another chairman, i'd be re thinking my valuation if west ham came knocking. However, did we really expect anything other than a lack of forethought!!!
