UEFA have awarded Liverpool the 'badge of honour' as a reminder of their fifth European Cup victory.

The badge is awarded to clubs who have won the trophy at least five times and subsequently kept it.

It will be worn on the players' left sleeves and remain on the shirt for as long as the club exists.
"By keeping the European Cup, we've joined an elite group which we'll remain part of forever," said chief executive Rick Parry.

"We'll have a permanent record of our status with the special UEFA badge on our shirt. Only those clubs who have kept the European Cup get this. From now on, every Liverpool jersey will have this logo.

"The only problem we've got with it is it's blue, but that's a small price to play for such a prestigious honour."

This is that little blue badge that you see Milan and R Madrid wearing on their left sleeve. Personally, I feel this has great intimidation factor and shows the club's status in Europe. Time to say goodbye to one of the Premiership lions...

I always thought it was unfair they didn't get one before, the other 4-time winners Bayern and Ajax got to wear them for winning 3 in a row.
