Hello,
This thread is old, but I'm new here and interested in this thread. Does anyone know which footballing country would be the easiest to play for internationally, as well as the easiest to gain citizenship for? I looked up about San Marino, but they are quite harsh on citizenship, which can take from 15 to 30 years! It's just a thought as I would love to have a crack at playing in an International match, and I don't think I'd make the England squad! I'm deadly serious, and just wondered if any of you people out there knew of any country that would be happy to embrace a willing footballer! Also just wondered if its at all possible. My parents are both English, and I'm thoroughly English, but I think it is possible to gain citizenship somehow of a foreign country. Anyone got any ideas?

Have you thought about Montenegro? Perhaps with their new football federation to form you could somehow slip through the cracks? Or why don't you just relocate to Belfast and play for N. Ireland? I'm not sure about any rules of citizenship within the UK. Hopefully someone else will have better ideas.
